it is probably 15 years old I forget exactly when I bought it. I think I stood around in the snow with it on one time. In other words it is in like new condition.

unlike my other Wild Things belay jacket I did not get it tailored with an extra 2 inches on the torso length and the sleeve length so it does not fit me.

for reference I am 6 foot and about 170 pounds, lean with wide shoulders and a condors' wingspan.

I was thinking around $500 with the buyer paying for the shipping since it's a pain in my a*# and I don't really need to sell it. I just figured someone who might use it should have it. It would probably be great for Denali which is why I bought it.

here is a picture

sorry for the funky post trying to do this with my phone sucks

I wasn't sure how to price it. It is esseentially brand new and it's probably the warmest jacket you can find. Expedition s h i t. Wild Things quality used to be second to none although I am not familiar with their newer product line. I think it was 800$ new. Lowest I would go is 400$

so I poked around on their website a little bit and they seem to have transitioned to a big line of military gear although they do still have civilian climbing products. the only jacket they offer even close to comparable is the transport Parka for $500 and it is probably equivalent to the Belay jacket that they used to sell. They have some great gear and I will probably get one of their cammo hard shells. They having nothing available like this jacket. If it fit I would keep it.

this jacket is way more bomber. like I said Denali or Everest is what this was designed for.
it is between 10 and 15 years old I do not remember exactly when I purchased it but it has been stored in a closet the whole time

Overwatch, (by the way, hello & bump, it was 5degrees warm at dawn 1/5/2016)
As I'm sure you do not need to be told,
theses fools, and those fools too, have NO idea what you have or are trying to share.
I still have a The North Face, ' Brooks Range' parka, old 60/40 shell, yellow nylon on the inside, 950 fill?, the warmest on the market whenever that was -
It was the go to stuff before The WildCountry ' belay-Cave' that is Your jacket.
That is a fine example of overbuilt to preform a life saving job .
I hope someone who gets out there sees it and works out shipping. . .
What does it weigh ?

thanks gnome finally someone that realizes I didn't want to get on here and trumpet myself.
this thing is so much better than most of the patagucci sh#t that's out there now.
not sure what it weighs maybe 5lbs or a little less. not much compared to what it can do. it is still ready to last anyone's lifetime

Edit;
I just compared it with a five pound weight and it is definitely lighter I would say around 4 pounds

I still covet mine. I always got all my stuff from then, free of charge, since I was pretty tight with them. We go back a long ways. Here is the owner in his early years, on an early ascent of the DNWF of Half Dome.
Nothing like having gear designed by real climbers, under close control, in a US shop. Yes, they made great gear!

Great parka! When I worked on Mt Washington I had a similar one.

Yes they were pricey, back in the day (early mid 90s?). This was the era of the first gen $500 goretex hardshells, and $500+ Dana Designs backpacks, and a wide assortment of relatively heavy, durable, but high performing gear. But alas times have changed, and your money goes farther.

Unless the item has some sort of coveted "vintage" label or history or something (very early Patagonia stuff does, for some reason), the general rule for used clothing/gear is along the lines of: 1/2 price one year after original purchase, and 10% less every additional year.

But good luck!

LMFAO $700?hahaha. Why in the world would anyone give you $700 for a 30 year old jacket. You can buy a brand new one that’s noticeably higher quality, warmer, and lighter from Feathered Friends for less than $700.

I’ll make the 1st offer $75?

Since there have been no other offers I’m lowering my original bid to $50

Vintage stuff is Kool. What's it worth? What ever you can get for it.

Pickers have room to store stuff. Hoarders don't have enough room.

Got a friend who spent thousands over the years to store stuff I doubt anyone would find collectable ie junk.

Although it's an intangible thing, you have actually spent $1500 to store your Parka. Subtract another $1500 that you could have made if you had invested the original $700. Subtract the purchase price $700. Your total loss is $3700.

Give it away to a rising Star. You will receive big Karma points.

Will you take $50 or not?

I don’t want to be cold over the holidays. The Goretex shell repels split beer and hard booze right? I’ll cover the shipping.
