I don't care if they don't (or can't) 'love' me. Or if it's their lymbic or amygdala speaking to me. Whatever...that's besides the point.
I love them because of their simple, gentle, pure spirit. I wish mine could be so simple and fulfilled.
Dog owners....that's another story. Too many of 'em are an irresponsible pain in my a*#.
I love my pup, more than most humans on this earth. That's all that matters to me.

Dogs are cool. What you see is what you get. There isn't any ulterior motive, they aren't hiding something. People want to live their whole lives with a mask, a wall, something that they don't even understand sometimes that exists to keep them from sharing real true emotion with other humans.
Dogs don't do that sh#t. They love you. Or hate you, but that's probably your fault.

I joked on the "I ate dogs" thread.
I am having first world problems.
Jennie is in a nursing home, I miss her, and I cry every night. Weak me.
Car is packed up, wheel bearing, driveshaft I was just told.
No hot water as my water boiler has decided to go on the blitz.
Four days, dishes are piling up, and no bath though the Celtic Sea is just a walk away.
But who shows up by my side?
A dog. Aggie, an angel.
She seems to know my problems.

What hind of dog is Max? Hard to tell from that pic.
I am fortunate to have Sherlock, a great dog, a border collie mix. He made me a (his) dog person.

I agree with the way apogee said it. Exactly.
As a side note, I immediately recognized where Max is standing to within five feet. You climb up here on Sonora Pass?

Max is a Rat Terrier- they are the mellower cousins of Jack Russells. As smart & personality-filled as their cousins, but waaaay less spazzy. Rattys are usually 12-22 lbs...Max is considered a 'Teddy Roosevelt' variety of RT, which is shorter & stockier. He's closer to 30 lbs, which is big for a RT...he is the Max!
Yep, that's Sonora Pass- we were there a couple of weeks ago cragging (for the first time) with a buddy of mine. What a great place!!

I have a love/hate relationship with dogs. I love well behaved and cared for dogs. I hate aggressive dogs. And, I pity neglected dogs.
Examples:
I love my dog, Jack (I know, some here don't)
I hate the dogs, 3 of them, that chase me out onto the highway on my afternoon bike ride. The other day I came prepared. It made my day to pepper spray those muthafukers right in the nose:)
I pity the neglected dog that lives next door, and keeps us up at night barking at nothing. I feel like pepper spraying the owners.
