I'm hoping this can be a place to turn each other on to some good live music
that may be coming to a town near you.
If you've seen a good show recently, post up!
There is a lot of good live music out there these days!
So far this year I've been able to see some of my favorites in great venues....within walking distance!
You may not be into the folkie or twangy stuff I like
but here are some recommendations of bands I've seen recently that are currently touring.
The Avett Brothers with Chatham Co. Line
Ryan Adams with Natalie Prass
Some others where I didn't take photos:
Jeff Bridges and the Abiders
Tweedy
Sturgill Simpson
Iron and Wine
So yeah, any recommendations, reviews, concerts you're amping for....please share!
All genres welcomed!

Primus at redrocks last night was outrageous, the willy wonka tunes added to the fun and the rain provided an extra bonus

Right on snake!
My most recent was October last year.
Black Dahlia Murder at the Filmore in San Francisco. One of the best venues to see a band. If you like melodic death metal with songs about dead things, a little necrophilia here and there, vampires, and killing sh#t (what death metal lyrics should be), Black Dahlia is for you.

Classic stuff this just in!!! Sick photos too.
Zappa Plays Zappa was just here- missed them again....
Next show I have tickets for is
Father John Misty.
He's way gnarlier than Black Dhalia Murder, not sure if anyone's quite ready for this kind of raw power and aggression....

Jefe, you ever listen to these guys? Think you'd like them. They are on tour, but nothing in Arizona. One band I need to see still.

Hey Jefe,
The Avett Brothers are great; have worked with them a few times and a best friend is their monitor guy.
Scheduled to provide sound and lighting for Ryan Adams May 29th in Missoula. Took me awhile to figure out it wasn't Bryan Adams.
Good to meet you down in Josh.

This Just In-
I have not seen DMT (the man, the drug, or the band) yet.
My nephews are big fans...one of them said they were way disappointed with the show. He was probably too high.
Thanks for contributing to this thread- I like a wide range of music and will see just about anything live.
A band that people rave about, The War on Drugs...saw them recently.
Love their recordings, the show did not blow my hair back.
Mavis Staples, however, was incredible. Legend.
Chris Smithers too, he was great.
Really, though, I'm a huge Ryan Adams fan. He's in the middle of a robust tour right now too.
Here, he takes one of his classic honkytonk tunes
and transforms it into something Justin or RyanD might like....

ARNE!!! Sick!!!
Enjoy!

Haha, so when they named one of their live albums A Little Bit Faster and a Little Bit Worse, they weren't joking? Actually like that album.
Gunna have to give Ryan Adams a good few listens to. It usually takes me a few listens to like a band.

I don't think Ryan Adams is exactly ST denizen material . . . a bit of generational discord there.
