Well, Andrzej, the little bro had to WORK when he lived at KIRK in the seventies.

He HATED it, but took it like a man.

He liked to go FAST (pun intended).

RJ, glad you likee.

Squaw VAlley rocks! I like Kirkwood better, but there is nothing wrong with Squaw. It has some really steep terrain that will prepare you for skiing the steeps in the mountains, as well as just great all around. Place is big. But yes, Kirkwood rules. It's hard to top Kirkwood.

Worked there from 91-97.
Tons of good times.

Cool history of both famous and infamous
employees/locals who excelled in a broad spectrum of
recreational pursuits.
Was able to enjoy hundreds of fresh
tracks working as a lift mechanic, all done before most powderhounds were
even digging out their cars..
Good snowpack for many of those winters too. Lucky..
Despite the bad rep,"employees from hell" bad attitudes and "surfturf"
mentality I got to try to keep up with some great skiers, who were both humble and
generous with beta.
Fun to figure out skiing sierra cement too...
After learning to ski in the east..
Hehehe

Everything in this video is true and is the opposite at Alpine. So ski Squaw, and avoid Alpine at all costs.

And remember, there are no friends on a powder day!

Hey, Mouse....Bogus is a real place, too. Well, an Idaho place, anyway. Boise's local Mountain. Not the greatest, but I dig it.

Enjoyed that video, especially because I recently got the pass that allows two days each in several good areas, including Squaw.

Hoping that the drought is ended with the whole nine yards of Sierra cement this winter :)

Squaw looks rad. History galore, fun traditions, gnar and gnarly terrain... It's on the list for sure.

Rollover I worked at Squaw 95-97. Shooting video for the ski school and private clients. Awesome job too. I worked 11-1 including video playback at a free lunch. One of the best times of my life.

Kirkwood, sugar bowl, and alpine are all great but don't have the scale of squaw.

Man I had some epic powder days at squaw; following the lifts as they opened, a couple runs on each. Skiing waist deep powder until the afternoon. Then another bonus powder day on Silverado the next day with no one else there.

I actually liked squaw!

And, as we all know you don't ski in California expecting powder, not gonna happen!
