Resurrected (climbing) threads are one of the reasons I still visit this forum. They are the best!

Resurrecting someone else's thread:

Once you post it, it ain't yours anymore. If you don't want it resurrected, don't post it in the first place.

OK Dingus. I deleted one of my own threads only to see it reappear under the name of "Norwegian". This is unethical, period.

Now, repeat that back after me....

+1 onthe...

you can't seriously make the argument that you've posted something on the internet and claim to have any control over what happens to it...
once you've posted you've given it to us all to play with as we please.

what is the "code of ethics" having to do with bits and bytes?

If you don't want that to happen, don't post it in the first place.

Agree with moose. Let the dead stay dead.
It's f*#king macabre to keep on digging up the dead.

You people must be weird, or something. Sick.

DMT:

it depends whether the title is "Norwegian is Unethical" or "Norwegian is Unethical, ."

with all due respect to the appointment made by the jester in chief, i believe only solomon has the answers we look for...

if a thread fetus is found, still breathing, abandoned in the woods, we will tell the two parents claiming him/r:

"the live fetus must be split in two, with each parent receiving half of the fetus!"

whoever would give the fetus to their rival instead of having it be ripped asunder will be revealed to be the true progenitor....

Avery?

Norwegian?

I'm with moosedrool, I don't believe in resurrection. Transubstantiation, however, is an entirely different matter....if you want to transubstantiate a thread you have my blessing.

I don't think "ethics" really come into play here. Was it rude of him? Perhaps.

The easiest solution is to not have diarrhea of the damned keyboard, and don't post it up if you're going to take it down again because you caught too much crap for it or whatever reason. I don't even know what he posted back up but from your other posts, I would guess it was some contentious or inflammatory statement.

Think twice, post once. If you don't want it repeated, then leave it the hell out of a public forum. Once it's there, you run the risk of it being taken.

So... the thread is a zombie? A brain-eatin' zombie? It's gonna be pretty hungry around these parts.

(hey, I resemble that remark)
