I know … we recently did the Flanders fundraiser in Joshua Tree and online with Supertopo, the ASCA benefit wrapped moments ago, Bean Bowers shindig just went down last night in Boulder … Tom Gilje’s deal is beginning to percolate ... and yes I’m doing this NOW.
We’ve had some good threads on Sheridan Anderson, perhaps some of you have some more stories you would like to tell here?
THANK YOU for your continued interest in helping others among us and thank you for taking a look!

Crucial bump here. DR may be out of contact for a couple days but he knew Sheridan really well especially towards the end. I am sure he would contribute here. Thanks tons Roy!!

Those are some primo issues!
Way to be generous and considerate Silver!
Good on ya Tar fer serving them up.
RR's "Save South Crack" in the first issue was a pivotal article in the evolution of clean climbing and a must read for any serious history buff.
The Victorious Nut cartoon is beyond classic!!!
And the Calendar issue...Great Ghastly Rabbitfat!

Never mind the bit about Pliny the Elder; that's just irreverent.
But we have Lito's birthday & ... WTF:
Galen's first rappel? I'm calling pure fabrication on that one.
Guido ... Haan: verification?

In 1974 I attended book signing of Galen's "The Vertical World of Yosemite" at the Visitor Center. I bought a book. Standing beside me is Sheridan. He looks down at me, grabs the book and says something like, "That needs signing". In a flash he scribbles out this little cartoon and that is that.
Drank a kiddie pool of red wine with him at DR's in Round Valley a bit after that - what a creative man!

Duh, it just came to me, er, actually Lisa figured it out:
That is not a Napoleon style hat on the Carter scan - it is Yosemite Sam's cap !!!
So what about the W.?

Special note to the reader about calendar sequencing
Apparently, flowing forth from the madcap, zany cranium of the artist was a novel concept in calendar organization.
Sheridan decided to list the months not from January through December, but alphabetically.
(The reader is duly forewarned on the cover)
So as I'm reaching into the grab bag of highlights, generally working front to back,
You'll notice I seem to be bobbing around from month-to-month in a definitively unorthodox manner !!!

You are on!
But.... ( I never figured on selling it) so I will send a couple more shots your way via this thread.
Warning, the dust cover is shot.
Caricature of Sherdian is on the very first page.
Give me a minute and I'll post up.

Pretty funny when I looked at the inside cover and realized that I put my Dad's address in there as I did not even have a PO Box during those early years in the Valley.
Great cause.
Ron, if this goes to you just send the $$$ to Roy and he will get it deposited. I will insure and mail it to you USPS Priority Mail.
Cheers,
TC
