I'd never heard of it until that girl was smoking it on TV.

Probably like smoking banana peels or dry lettuce.

I went on a call three years ago for a guy who tried it with his wife. She did fine he totally tripped out and started ripping the house apart from paranoia. We found him curled up in a ball on the front porch of his house with his wife trying to calm him. I guess it can be a crapshoot.

Speaking of Glue Mr Locker,

I have a pair of shoes in need of some TLC. Give me a bump if you are interested in fixing them. Acopa Spectras.

Batrock, it is my opinion that it affects men and women differently. This is a VERY powerful shaman hallucinogen that is misunderstood and abused.

The Mexican tribe/region that uses it in rituals and vision quests treat it with respect. Imagine a young male tribe member confused about his place in the world, then having a shaman spend a day with him around a fire chewing the plant leaf's psychoactive materials--the lesson being to find that young man's purpose and meaning to the world.

Women already have a designated purpose, and do not need the heavy vision questing as do males.

The Salvia that can be purchased legally (and abused) is in extract form, ranging from 5X to 100X the potency of the plant in its natural state. BE VERY CAREFUL with this "drug"--always have a sober sitter, and be mentally prepared ahead of time for what MAY occur during the process.

Salvia Divinorum reacts and stimulates the Pineal Gland, which is the "3rd Eye" to dreams and altered conscious states.

btw, the trip for me was spending 9 minutes (real time) in Cartoon Land which felt like I was stuck there for a week.

Research this one fully, before delving into the shaman's realm of life...

I tried it once, it was very powerful & scary. I'll never try it again.

EDIT**
I tried it while sitting on my couch. Next thing I was aware of, I was standing on a vast plain, kind of like a dry lake playa of infinite dimensions. A huge object of immense size was rushing towards me. I don't know if it was a building, an obolisk like the one in 2001 Space Oddyssey, or a huge building. In any case, it was fast approaching me & like in most dreams, I was unable to move or run from it. Just as it was going to hit me, it stopped & dropped away leaving me on the edge of a huge cliff and I was losing my balance and starting to fall into the void. Just as I began to scream, I woke up on my couch, covered in sweat.

End Edit***

Much stronger than weed, more scary than acid.

A friend of mine tried it after hearing of my experience and when he came to, he said he didn't want to discuss what he saw. Enough said.

"I have no belief in the "it's hundreds of times more potent than used to be available" bullsh#t."--Rox

NOT TRUE !

The "X" number indicating potency is for EXTRACTS of the plant leaf--5X equals 5 grams of leaf reduced to 1 gram of "extract".

There is a HUGE difference between 5X and 100X--trust me on this one...

nature - Why would you recommend not doing it alone? Serious question.

just wondering.

Looking at the input from others and watching those who do it on tape, seems like it might be a very intense "high" with slow roll down within minutes... Not that I'm ever going to try, just wondering.

I would think, unless someone was in public, this might be safer alone; no self conscious vibe, no angst from a group setting.

Also, does it seem like it is one of those drugs that you cannot come back from. When I first did A, I felt like I was leaving myself to a past that may never be recovered. But that's just me, and my memory of the experience.

cheers

Jingy, a "sitter" will keep you from accidentally hurting yourself, help you to remain "grounded", and make sure that you don't wander off and get into "trouble".

Highly recommended (having a sitter), btw--as you are so "out of it" that cognitive coherent thoughts cannot be carried out. It's not just hanging out giggling and laughing for a few minutes, though it can certainly look like that is all that is happening.

edit: Salvia will always bring you back to reality after it wears off (which is quickly), which is NOT true for acid.

VERY different psychoactive compounds AND experiences at work there. NO comparison between LSD and Salvia Divinorum can be made, as different parts of the brain are affected by each of them.

Wow. Some interesting stuff here. Too bad it was not around when I would have tried it... I'll stick to beer and scotch for now.

A quick tutorial for adults wishing to try Salvia:

Buy the strongest extract that you can find, I would say 20X minimum for "full" effect.

1. A water pipe works best
2. A torch lighter works best
3. Flame the material throughout the WHOLE hit (not like weed)--Salvia needs high temps to be most effective.
4. Hold the smoke for 20 seconds
5. Repeat 1-4 if you can :-)

6. Enjoy the trip into your subconscious mind

Duration: 2-10 minutes with a 20-30 minute "coming down" phase--after that, life will be normal BUT reality may never be the same again.

edit: Salvia Divinorum (and its extracts) is LEGAL in most States, but not all. The extracts are sold as "incense, not for human consumption" for legal purposes.

If you going to experience Salvia, please research the history, and effects--you will have a more positive experience.

I started a thread about this a while back. Salvia will make the furniture in your casa chase you around, if you aren't careful...Thank god its illegal now. How dare a plant like that grow, in soil and under the sun and all that.
