Jerry Clown is the reason we're saddled with Prop 13. Brown stood by while inflation pushed ordinary taxpayers into much higher marginal rates, created phantom capital gains, and caused property tax bills to increase by several hundred percent.
Only after its passage did he purport to become a "born again tax cutter," leading Doonesbury to refer to Prop 13 as the Jarvis/Brown Amendment. (Since most of you were too young to remember, it was the Jarvis/Gann Amendment).
In the meantime he gave us Adriana Gianturco, Rose Bird, and a cast of thousands of other idiots.
Keep California green. Don't let it get Brown again!
