Well, I'm a month away from my intended solo so I think I need to step up to the next level of my Digging a Hole Motivational Program. You can all figure out the program, I'm sure. Merely tell everyone and anyone that you are going to do a certain route and eventually you will either have to do the route or change your name and move to another country. I already have people here in Hood River asking if I've done the route yet (maybe they're just tired of hearing me talk about it).

Anyway, my plan is to start up the Nose pitches of Grape Race sometime on the Memorial Day weekend (along with 500 of my best friends, no doubt) rain or shine. I'm "planning" on taking 4 days to get to Tribal Rite and then another 7 days, including a day of rest, to get to the top. I've spent thousands of dollars on gear, clothing and food and emailed back and forth to PTPP a few thousand times.
I was never a badass aid climber so I expect to be scared shitless pretty much the whole way. I've never soloed El Cap before or any other route for that matter so this is going to be the total big time adventure for me.

Let the Digging begin!

As someone who is unworthy of emptying your wag bags I can't comprehend your lack of mo. But then I can't comprehend wanting to go up there without someone to help haul. I'm pretty sure you could call Weld_it.

Those Tribal Rite pitches are so unbelievable in the exposure and position you achieve. I loved it!

Oh yeah, that's the cornerstone of my whole approach.

Plus if you're in the Valley on May 22nd, come to the Sacherer memorial events. Several historical badass role models will be there, and may be inspiring to meet before your climb.

Yeah, I too thought you meant real holes in real dirt. Great for clearing the head.

I used to like shoveling snow off of roofs that were about to implode too. Made your back scream. And the money was good. Better than writing or guiding.

Clearly, though, there are other rites of our tribe that are equally effective.

Best wishes on your grand adventure. It sounds like a lot of work to lug stuff for that long of a stay on the El Cap Hilton. I suppose it's even a larger task coming down as you can no longer set the haul bags sailing down to the base.

I do like the "digg'n a hole motivational program." !!!

Knock em Dead!

Break a leg!

Hopefully, all here recognize the above phrases as traditional expressions of support in the theatre biz.
