Trip Report
cuba!!
Monday March 1, 2010 10:42am
A few months ago I had the chance to get out to Cuba for some limestone sport climbing. After attempting to get out there last year during the snowpacalypse I was pretty amped to be lucky enough to convince a friend here in seattle to go on my second attempt. It was lucky for us that both of us have dual citizenship, but it turns out that it wasn't necessary, but a good insurance policy nonetheless.
I've never done a TR before so i hope this one turns out. This TR is mostly meant to be a tease, as we are hosting a small slideshow at Brahms house this coming Thursday at 7pm in Capitol Hill (Seattle). If anyone wants to come to hear more, sample some rum, whiskey, and cigars brought back at my peril(coffee also), or just meet and greet just e-mail me for the specifics eatsleepclimb@yahoo.com. I'd love to have you!! I'm trying to find more partners, and raise some money for gear donations to the locals, and for bolting funds to do some anchor replacement out there. On this years return trip.

he crazy horse, what the climbers in cuba really need is a drilling machine. i have been there the whole january and the machine is broken.
but sure they need all the other equipment too. maybe look at the side from escaladeencuba.com.
i would like go again to cuba, hope again next january.
if someone is interested i put a few pictures and a report on my own small page about climbing in cuba but its in german language.

Stellar photos, Crazy Horse! Especially beautiful rock on the routes...and the formations from a distance--awesome.
Now, you asked for a little input...so to get you up to Fritz or rgold TR writing speed, might I suggest a bit more text in between your photos?
Explain a bit more about who's on the climb, how gnarly/nice/heinous it was, maybe a side-note or two about someone almost dying from too much perfect weather or too much good rum...you know, a bit of color.
The little pigs photo was waaaaaaaaay cool!
And was that flan you were cutting into, or a vertical omlete? ;-) (See, a little detail could go a long way there!)
Thanks mucho for posting these great pix--look forward to seeing more of your travels in the future.!
