Trip Report
Tmds Sept 2011 and Yosemite wildlife TR
Monday September 19, 2011 1:01am
The gal and I took a quick father-daughter run to the meadows. Hardly worth a TR but here you go. I have to note that ipods are wonderful little devices for the road. Lots of good tunes coming and going.

It is getting cooler up there with a hard freeze at night and lots of frost in the mornings, but, over the weekend, the daytime temps were perfect. TPR, the meadows store and the meadows campground all closing next Sunday (Sept 25) we heard.

Headed up Werner's Wiggle. Last did it 32 years ago with Bill Frey - it seemed trivial then. Feels a bit sporty now! wbraun: did you really 3rd class this in work boots?

OK - got the Word from Werner on Werner's Wiggle. I am in awe.

"Half true Mike.

Eric Beck assumed I was climbing that far to the right of the water cracks.

I was doing them every evening after dinner that summer in my sears workboots and had those watercracks dialed in.

I could run up and down them with ease.

Then one day I decided to exit the watercrack out on the face to the right.

I was looking at sure death and froze at one point.

Bruce Kumpf was at the base waiting for me to pitch off and die.

I didn't but probably should have it was that close ....."

Nice!

One correction - Pika aren't rodents, they're lagomorphs (basically rabbits)
