Pigeon Spire - Bugaboos, 25 Years Ago

Not a new trip report, but we are coming up on the 25th anniversary of one of my all time favorite trips. We we lucky and had great weather and got 4 summits. Pigeon Spire West Ridge, 5.4 was the easiest and was a great, fun in the sun warm up.

Many of you may have seen my earlier video of the Becky Chouinard on the South Howser Tower, this is from that same trip and for the upcoming anniversary NE Ridge on Bugaboo Spire, and West Face Snow Patch are next.

We had serious big fun with the bestest of friends.

Again, one more delightful reminder of glory days...starting with hundred pound packs!

That ladder was not there in 1970. Nor was the hut.

Beginning your descent, the 8:30 mark & just past that, the lichen is worn away, it seems, from traffic. We should have done this route!

"Pass the bacon and the beer, eh?" It's good to hear that phrase again - it's been 25 years since such a fine day was had in the Bugs. I'm one of the "2 Canadians" in the credits. Thanks for posting the video, a friend of mine spotted it and passed it along to me, and I passed it along to the other Canuck - it brings back a lot of really fine memories of long sunny days on the fantastic rock of the Bugaboos. This video is a keeper! Take care, and climb safe!

Greetings Canucks! I'm one of those guys with a bad haircut, though as it was '90 and we were no trendsetters I'm sticking with 80's style. Glad to see you guys pop up. Crump has more of these little videos for your amusement. No lycra was harmed in the making of this film.

Wow, I guess with the internet, it is a small world after all!
