I have had a few really fun trips to Cantabaco recently. I was able to distribute tons of the gear that has been sent from the climbing family here on ST. I hope these pics show the joy your donation has made in these people's lives. Some of the pics are from bad angles and a far distance because I am also climbing and sometimes take the pics when I come down (and am still tied in). Most of these photos are of a group of teenagers from Cebu City (about a 30 min bus ride from Cantabaco). They were exposed to climbing for the first time. Most of the gear used in these pics was donated from the members of ST but some of the gear was not. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to make a difference it wouldn't have been possible without your generosity and HUGE effort to make it happen. Enjoy! Eric

The teens getting their gear on. This area is called area 3 on the topo. It has a good concentration of easy and moderate routes with a few 5.11 routes also. You are in the shade all day at this spot.

Another teenage girl climbing "Balite" 5.7 the route is super vertical and slightly overhanging. In my opinion most of the route is 5.6-5.7 with the crux being a pumpy powerful series of moves with poor feet. Kind of right in line with the grades from Jtr

This girl is toproping a different route called "Haight" 5.8 the route is very cool and gives you and exposed feeling being very vertical. In comparison to "sail away" in jtree they both have about the same distance of quality climbing. Haight means "shar

This is Carl he is sixteen and in really good shape base upon all of the running and swimming and biking he does. I felt "Vina Kulafu" 5.11 was in his ability range because it is basically a fitness route. The holds are there but you have to be strong eno

I still have some pics to add but need to find them on my computer...I must have been loading them while sipping a few cold ones. I will post some more action pics and more pics of the gear being distributed ASAP. I am trying to meet a few more guides to distribute gear to...please be patient. I want to make sure that the gear doesn't go to the same few people (I know that they would happily take it but there are many more people who need the gear). Thanks Eric

Don't worry Toker Villain, I only took the gear that I could fit in my backpack and I still have plenty of gear still to distribute. I have some photos still to post but seem to have stored them in the wrong folder on my computer and am looking for them (so I can load them onto my memory stick and post up ASAP!!)The pics I am looking for are non-climbing shots with the gear poses. So far I have given 2 ropes, one pair of shoes, 3 locking biners, 4 2ft slings, one set of 6 REI draws, one set of 6 smiley draws, 12 non-matching but excellent quickdraws---from the latest box sent by Cragnshag's group. Peace Eric
