Overview
Despite its steepness, Tangerine Trip is one of the easier routes on the southeast face of El Cap, only slightly harder than Zodiac. On the Trip there are some classic pitches and some not-so-classic. The most memorable pitches used to be the rivet ladders where many falls of 50-plus feet were taken when a string of dowels snapped. Since all the bolts have been replaced by the ASCA, the route now has a less fearsome reputation.
