Oakland: what's not to love?

Howdy ST citizens, anybody out there who can recommend a good, relatively affordable (somewhere around $150-$180 or so a night, if that's realistic?) place to stay at night nearish to the Arches entrance? Rooms, lodge, shack, cabin, anyplace with a roof. Taking my mom to Yosemite next week for her birthday.

Four people, two or three nights next week (Thurs, Fri, Sat). I've never stayed anywhere but the in the dirt or on a wall, so no idea on what's out there. Figured the collective knowledge here would be better than a Google and dial-a-thon combo.

Thanks!

Bonus question: what single pitch would you put your 65 year old mom on so she could spray about it in her book group later?

You could try the Blue Butterfly Inn owned and operated by Ron Skelton and his wife. I think they have a couple of rooms in the high end of your range but that includes 'full gourmet breakfast'. Help out a climber!

Salad - perfect, man, perfect. Thanks.

What about which pitch you'd let your mom TR in the Valley? I can't decide between Ahab and Generator...

These are Not near arch rock entrance, its 40 minutes to the valley from Wawona, but Redwoods cabins is having a special right now , 25 percent off, and you could probably find one for around that price range. look for the economy cabins.

Plus there are condos in Yosemite West, which is 15 minutes to the valley.

Chris Falkenstein, CF on supertopo, has a cabin for rent in Foresta. I don't know the link or the price.

Here is a link to some cabins in foresta.

Good luck.. Call each place and bargain with them. I know the redwoods needs business and is willing to bargain and I am pretty certain about Yosemite west also.

I have stayed at the Yosemitie View lodge a few times. You can get a room with two kings for around $170 or less. Two minutes to the arch entrance, fifteen minutes to El Cap meadows. It has a place to get pizza, a store, and a resturaunt that serves breakfast and dinner.

The Cedar lodge is another ten or twelve miles down the road and is a bit cheaper.

May have a hard time with last minute reservations this time of year , but worth a try.

I think I have a link, I will post it if I can find it.

Here is the link.

Looks like they have rooms available.

Did I mention they have kitchenet's with a stove, refrig, and sink, pots and pans and plates and stuff. Or if you are too tired to cook after hiking up Half Dome. Pizza.
