Can't help but think he should have had his own brand of shoes / clothes etc under the Bachar name .

I'm really pleased to hear that. I've been wanting a pair of legends ever since I saw them but haven't been able to get them yet.

Now is a good time to buy shoes people, to make sure Acopa has the resources to continue strong in the future. It is a small company that wanted growth, so help them out and get your shoes ASAP. They are individuals who were close to John and they are suffering the lose as well, yet have to continue to move on with company business. They are probably traveling to the OR trade show, and not having their designer there to represent them. A boost in sales would be good for their moral and peace of mind. So buy a couple of pair (or more)!
Peace

My son climbs in Acopa's, as do i.
I will continue buying them, even though i have to buy through them directly cuz no one carries their stuff up here.
I hope that the company prospers despite the recent events. Bachar can't/won't be replaced, but the shoes are still amazing as is the culture of the company....

That's good news. I bought a pair of Acopas Spectres at the beginning of the season, and I love them. I've been searching for a replacement to the old pink 5.10 Anasazi laceups since they stopped making them about five years ago. These were, IMO, the best all-around shoe in existence for my foot. And so far, the Spectres have been the first shoe I've tried that has measured up.
Unfortunately, I just went to Acopa's website, and they do not appear to be listed. I guess that means they discontinued them. Too bad. I hope this isn't the last pair of Acopas I buy.

rhyang - my bad, I didn't see the scrollbar on the right on their Shoe Models page. It did seem odd to me that they should only have four models - that makes a lot more sense!

Anyone want a pair of size 8 JBs? They are slightly modified with only a couple routes on them and I would let them go cheap.

I love I wasn't alone in my thinking. Got my new Legends when I was in Mammoth the week before Bachar's passing.

I just ordered a pair of Aztecs... for which I have high hopes. I couldn't find them in Bay Area stores to try on first though.

Also supporting the Acopa team which may be hard pressed to do the show without jb. I thought Mr. Bachar said he was designing some new shoes in Mexico earlier this summer. Perhaps, if true, this will allow Team Acopa to continue on until they can make necessary adjustments. Peace and Support, Lynne

Acopas (Aztec and Spectre at least) are in stock at the San Francisco REI on Brannan street. Just an FYI since they are hard to find to try on.
