Very cool video tickler!

What is the basic list of the "loose federation"?
I know the main names, but I always thought Kauk was a "full on" member. I saw two snapshots of him, but no other mention. Was he kind of an outside member???

Thanks Bruce!

Roger Breedlove has a good perspective on this in the book in a story he wrote called “Into Their Own.” As Largo writes, "it was like the French foreign legion" and all were welcome. I am happy to say there are a lot of photos of Ron Kauk in the book, some of my favorites’.

More shows in the populous sun belt! Where climbers live...I got a ride to Los Altos if it and I still exist way out there on sept 3rd. what about Berkely or SF? how hard can that be for a show of this scope,? you'd come out ahead if you canceled ALL the others and concentrated on those two venues, WTF?

of course I'm being kinda facetious, but one (two?) in Boulder, two in la and two in the bay and maybe one in Seattle, and you can afford obscure luxuries like Portalnd ( I know home town, for the sponsor, etc) you gotta admit that is a truly eccentric list of venues, though...

Thanks for all the interest and orders for the book.

It was seen by many people last night at the Granite Frontiers opening festivities and enjoyed by all. I really enjoyed meeting new and past customers in an environment that couldn’t have been more inspiring.

Ken Yeager and crew did an amazing job with their exhibit.

I gotta say this book is effing amazing. It is an absolute necessity to own as a rockclimber. Images of principal characters from the seventies that are not only uncommon---never-before-seen actually--- but show aspects of the era and the climbers that reveals far more than has been shown before. Astounding. Huge kudos to especially Bullwinkle (Dean) for finding all this stuff, scattered all over the place. Order now! This anthology is astounding!!

This thread NEEDS to be on the front page. My wife and I had the pleasure of having dinner with Mike and Wendy last night up in his neighborhood and to my TOTAL and complete suprise, he popped out an early version of the book!!! I CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS TO COME OUT. If you have not ordered a copy...DO SO. This book is one of the best I've seen. It's thick,(worth the money)has TONS of great photos,(worth the money)and loads of great stories(worth the money)! No bull this book is worth every penny and will be one you probably read over and over. I got a fast look at it, before handing it back to Mike, don't want to spoil my suprise when I get my copy. If you like climbing books get yer order in, can't believe you won't LOVE it. Mike, Dean, John and all others involved have outdone themselves. I'm anxiously awaiting the release date.

Books are printed and on the way. We’ll have them in our hands the week of the 21st.

Both Largo and Bullwinkle will be giving a slide show at the Face Lift on the 25th I believe. So if you can, be there! There will also be books available at that time.

Here’s the latest on the book.

They’re clearing customs right now and should be in out warehouse by the end of the week. John and Dean will be signing them this weekend for all you pre-purchasers.

I have spent a past few days pulling out what little hair I have left trying to get our “Mass Mail” program to send Mail announcing this, with little luck. But I think I got it licked now based on a few auto-replies I received back.

I know some people will be going to the FaceLift that have ordered books and I don’t want it to cross them in the mail and miss their early delivery. If you reply to the mail we sent out (hopefully) you can arrange to pick them up from me personally at the event.

Cheers,

Mike

it's wonderful

given all that's happened this year, there was a poignancy to it too, and on the last page the last sentence nearly had me crying, strange, disclaimers nearly never do that to me...

whatever happens next, The Stonemasters certainly still point the way, even my old and feeble self still feels their pull. Thanks for that.
