3 weeks starting Monday June 1st. Goal lose 10 pounds in 3 weeks.

We need an administrator and participants.

Who's in?

~Sooze

EDIT: Here are the previous rules:

For those of you not familiar, it goes like this.....

Commit to losing 10 pounds in the timeframe of the contest.
For every 1 pound you DO NOT LOSE you pay $10 to the pool
    Winners split the Pool
    No extreme dieting allowed
    Sabotage is legal
Two week weigh in (June 15th) must have lost at least 5 pounds or pay a penalty of $10 to the pool.

Those of you compelled to debate the benefits of a % of body weight vs. 10 pound challenge please search the topic...it's been discussed numerous times in the past.

Any takers for the admin portion of the event? I'm out due to lack of desire and I'll be on vacation for a few weeks after the close of the event.

Administration requirements are basically just keeping track of who's in, what the weigh in's are, midpoint penalties and final coordination of payments.

OK ya losers, here is some incentive. Two point some odd months ago I was pushing 269. This morning I am 239. No tapeworm, just good healthy living. 10 pounds in three weeks is attainable, just not the thing I can do to attain the big goal, I've set for me.
You can do it, and I already feel the shoulders complain less and less each and every day out climbing. Sucks getting old and fat. Losers, I dare ya to lose 11 pounds.

So I just grossed myself out with this bit of info regarding the tapeworm diet (see below). I hope that others would go with the new-fangled "frute" diet instead.

Re: Tapeworm diet:
While a tapeworm might take in some of the food you do, it would at the same time be taking in a lot of vitamins and other nutrients you need to stay healthy. Do you know what ascites are? A big pool of fluid in your tummy caused by an immune response to something in your guts. Something like a tapeworm. It gives you a big potbelly, which runs kind of counter to the look you might be wishing for. And a tapeworm might not necessarily just set up camp in your innards. It can also cause cysts in your muscles, liver and eyes. Your eyes! So don't you think it might be easier instead to just eat a bit less and exercise a bit more?

Blubo,

Welcome aboard!

I have deleted your e mail as spam. Is your e mail address: IVABIG1@hotmail.com? If yes, resend.

185? Hmmm, Is that metric?

10 pounds in 1 week?

I admire your optimism, and don't want to offend you, but I think you would have a better chance of seeing monkeys fly out of Locker's buttocks, than dropping 10 in 7 days. Well, on second thought, knowing Locker, that might not be such an unusual thing to see, but hopefully you see my point.

PEOPLE! In order for this to work, you must set realistic goals. You may never have the figure of Crimpie, or the physique of Nature. 3 words for you ge-ne-tics.
And no matter how much weight you lose, you will never be as sexy as Lynne, or The Zip. We were born this way, and it is a handicap, but something we have learned to live with.

Do the best you can with what you got, and have fun with it.

Blubo, I hope you prove me wrong. Please let me know if you need anymore positive motivation or support. Just remember, I will be right behind you the whole way.

Lynne, too much protien acts as a diuretic, sure it makes you loose weight, but the cost to your kidneys could be too much, which you won't know till it's too late.

fat is the key for me. And staying away from sugar, especially white sugar and that made by alcohol.
Good fats, including butter in the right amount keeps me from being hungry, gives me more energy, and I eat A LOT less then when I try to avoid fats.
I get along good with eggs too. Found out the cholesterol is important for gals our age, helps with the hormone thing.

Good diet tip, avoid most white food. Seriously. Eggs and rice OK

I'd like to join you guys but I'm one of those 5'1" people who can't lose 10 pounds even if I wired my jaws shut (well, maybe...) I'd have to go for percentages here.

But I've re-started my own "burn more calories than I put it" challenge today and hope that in 3 weeks maybe I'll lose 3 pounds. Could happily get rid of about 6. We'll see - I, too, love candy and am hard-pressed to give up my cocktails, especially with my stressful job. Actually I'm hard-pressed to give up those extra calories, being a total emotional eater.

Gosh crusher, maybe you don't need to lose much. Maybe you just need to take 30 minutes a day and do some easy exercise. That's what changed my world.

No gyms, no fancy programs. Just simple food and walking for an hour once or twice a week with 3o pound backpack, situps, pushups....etc.

I drink beer and cocktails but mostly eat simple good food and NO FAST FOOD, and sorry no Mexican Jilbertos of any sort ....except once a week for either. Lynnie

OMG Nature I don't have time for that fancy stuff!

Actually (and thanks Lynnie) I DO eat really healthily (is that a word?) - my problem is too much of everything...calories in vs. calories out.

The challenge is to substitute something else for food as comfort / stress relief / pleasure. I work out, just not enough during the week. I practice yoga and KNOW what I'm supposed to do, stress relief wise, but finding the strength to do it all is another thing altogether!

I love to eat! Love to enjoy great food, wine, cheese, chocolate. How to just have VERY small portions and treat it all more like fuel is the issue.

Well crusher, (one last post to end the day)

I guess your bottom line is just desire and discipline. That's it. If we can strategize that ..... it can happen.

Your key words seem to be stress and too much comfort food. I know these words well.

Many of us need to live life so much more simply than we do. If we manage to accomplish this, we will be free to be healthy to live zestfully and to love fully.

Zip, you forgot yourself on the list of participants. What is that 17 total fatties?!

Don't count your coin too quickly... I'm sure to be in the winners pool.

Yesterday I ate a small salad for lunch and a bowl of soup (not too bad considering I was at a restaurant that serves salads that top out at 850 calories a piece)

Went to Sprouts for whole foods on the way home. Then I continued to eat the goods as I put them away. Including but not limited to....

Strawberries
Crab salad out of the deli bowl
Some Feta cheese
Many small pickles
More strawberries

Later in the evening I prepared today's lunch of Tuna Salad...where I ate a few green olives that were going in the mix and then several taster bites.

Thankfully no booze was involved. So I'm DOWNNNNNNNN .2!!

KickAss, I'm on my way??!!! At this rate... I'll be payin'

Yeah, Americans on the SAD diet typically eat not enough in the morning and then too much in the evening. Generally they eat way too many carbs and protein for dinner which turns them into Shamoo's.

I wouldn't say don't eat anything after 6:30PM but you should consider what you eat.

Certainly a good healthy breakfast is important. But generally what happens to the body is the more you stuff in your stomach the more your stomach wants you to stuff something in there. So if you eat a big breakfast your stomach wants a big lunch/dinner, etc.

FWI worth I went to a seminar two weeks ago by a guy named David Wolfe. IT was really inspiring. He's one of the top nutritionists around. He's pragmatic w/o being dogmatic. Even though he's vegan and eats almost entirely raw he's not preaching that "you" should do the same. "Open to grace and do your best" was a quote from him. I like that.

I bought his book called Superfoods and it really opened my eyes even wider into nutrition. It's not all about Vitamins, minerals and protein. There's so much more like viable probiotics, antioxidants, active enzymes!, coenzymes, essential fatty acids, polysaccharides, bioflavonoids, polyphenols, and a whole long long list of other things I hardly ever considered.

Just for fun here's his top ten Superfoods (A superfood as roughly being defined as a food that has dozens of unique properties, not just one or two).
Gogi Berries
Cacao (raw chocolote) yes!
Maca
Bee Products (honey, pollen, royal jelly, propolis)
Spirulina
AFA Blue-Green Algae
Marine Phytoplankton (essentially the basis of life on this planet)
Aloe Vera
Hempseed
Coconuts

Honorable mention:
Acai
Camu Camu Berry
Chlorella
Inca Berries
Kelp
Noni
Yacon

Hey guys,

I'd love to throw my name in to compete but I can't - I will never reach that magic number. So I shouldn't be on the list. I just hope you don't mind me lurking and cheering you on. If I come up with some good strategies I can "weigh in" ha ha.

Right now it's calories in vs. calories out, going for a net burn of hopefully 500 cal. a day and trying to make all the calories in good ones - in terms of purity of the food, less sugar and so on.

Had a hard work out last night and am already sore - good sign!

crusher - that's why I'm here lurking as well.

10 lbs in 3 weeks is probably not a healthy approach. However if these folks stay very active they should be able to get the proper nutrition to keep 'em healthy :-).

Here's something I read that might help (quoting David Wolfe): "Experiments show that those who take bee pollen decrease their daily intake of food by 15 to 20 percent".

Bee Pollen is loaded with Amino's (complete protein), full of trace minerals like barium, boron, calcium, copper, gold, iodine, iron, magnesium, iron, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, selenium, silicon, sulfur, sodium, and zinc. It has almost all the B-vitamins (except B12), has C, D and E, rutin, carotenes, fourteen fatty acids, and I could go on.

It's also an aphrodisiac and improves fertility. Go get 'em Lynn! :-)

But make sure it's raw and make sure it's organic!

Lynne: figures you are Pitta, but that's cool you are close to balanced mentally (though I'm sure Zip will show up and disagree - LOL!).

Lynne: there's nothing "wrong" with being Pitta. Ideally we'd like to be tri-doshic (balance of all three) and so to work that direction we make modifications in our habits like eating. So the link I posted is a very basic sheet of foods that feed Pitta (not what you want) and foods that help to chill Pitta out.

IF you get interested in your Ayurvedic constitution I can recommend some reading (funny, since I asked about this stuff here not six months ago) - I'm finding Svoboda's book "Prakriti" to be very accessible and thorough.

crusher: yeah, Wholefoods (AKA WholePaycheck) will have it. I like the raw granules. You can mix them with a smoothy or just eat it straight. It tastes pretty good. Here's what I'm using now:
http://www.vitaminshoppe.com/store/en/browse/sku_detail.jsp?id=RJ-7035&st=cs&source=FG&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=RJ-7035

but this weekend I'm hitting up the farmers market where a local bee keeper sells his product. I can't stress organic enough on bee products. And if it's not raw all the enzymes are killed.

Locker: got you covered. I'll even add a little wheatgrass in there.

Hey salad, I've found that full on juice fasting (mainly carrot, beets n parsley) is the best for getting rid of any cold or flu. After about a week it get's rid of the excessive mucus. Do it with psylium seed husk (laxitive-cleanser) for best results. You'll feel like crap for a few days but then it gives you a lot of energy.

Last night I stopped by the local mercado. It's a small Whole Foods type place without the Whole Foods pricing or hype. Besides, the lead singer for the local King Crimson cover band stocks the shelves there.

For those of you who don't know, I've got a bit of a sweet tooth. Not really cake, donuts or ice cream but candy. Zours, good & plenty, things like that. Yumm!!!

Anywhoo, in my trip to "Sprouts" i picked up a little sweet snack. A reward that's "kinda" good for you. They have a fruit and nut mix that's not to be beat. Cashews, peanuts, dried pineapple, cranberries, raisins and the best part...little tiny yogurt chips.

My theory was this little snack will keep the craving for sweets away. A small portion is doable and yummy. Needless to say both last night (and again tonight) I've consumed so much after work that I'll likely have to skip dinner to make up for the calories consumed.

I have no will power or limits. If I could learn portion control I'm sure I could eat almost anything.

God I suck. What's the matter with me? That and Russ is posting about green labels... how many more weeks?

Susan, hang in there. You have the right idea. Portion control, not deprivation. I solve my sweet tooth with a jolly rancher left over from the last wall bag. One, just one, and it is so good I do not chew it, let it melt. Sweet for ten minutes. Also nuts carry a big calorie punch, watch em closely, they are too nutricious for their size.

Come on ya losers, it is only the begining, there is plenty of time for 10 pounds left. You know, we climbed late last night in the heat, and I was so burnt and tired from cranking near the limit, that when I got home late, I wasn't even hungry. Just sore and tired. Shower and off to bed. Hint, hint, hint. Felt hungry this morning, and sore, but a good sore, you know?

Hang in there, do not get frustrated by a 100 calorie binge, take a breath, recenter the mind, and focus. What were we talking about again. Oh yea, losers!

Go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, etc..

Thank you Bob. Good advice about the nuts and dried fruit is even worse. Thankfully they both carry fiber which is good.

Hard candy lives on my desk and I eat 2-4 pieces a day depending on what is going on.

For those of you with a sweet tooth....Suger Free Jello is a nice choice. Virtually no calories, zero fat and zero carbs. You can even do it up with a squish of whipped creme.

Amazingly, without any working out (other than activity I have normally) I'm down 3.4 - heading into a weekend is scary but perhaps the climbing will help. Let's hope we don't get rained out.

I'm going to pack my meals right now. Tuna, Low Carb Pita bread, some lunch meat, cheese and a few eggs for breakfast.

Au Naturale: Marine Phytoplankton

Marine Phytoplankton: the basis of the food chain. They are the very meaning of food.

The blue whale is the largest mammal ever to exist, can weigh up to two hundred tons, and lives on phytoplankton and krill (which eat only phytoplankton). Whales produce the largest brains and healthiest nervous systems of any mammal.

According to NASA phytoplankton provides 90% of the oxygen we breath.

Marine Phytoplankton contains omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids (including docosahexaenoic acid and DHA), nucleotides, RNA, DNA, protein, chlorophyll, vitamins (A, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12, C,D, major minerals, trace elements, antioxidants, and polysaccharides.

Research indicates that marine phytoplankton contains every nutrient needed for the creation and maintenance of new cells.

Phytoplankton is 100% bioavailable to the human body. When you eat it, none of it is "wasted".

*Improves immune system

*It's an anti-inflammatory

*the high-alkaline mineral content makes it ideal for detoxing - detoxes w/o demineralization

*Improves memory and concentration

*Normalizes Blood sugar imbalances

*Better Sex

*Faster recovers (illness or injury)

*Nervous system repair

*Gram for gram marine phytoplankton is likely the most nutrient-dense, alkaline superfood on Earth

Omege-3 fatty acid absorption
Omega-3 fats are essential to human health. They reduce the risk of developing cardiovascular disease, autoimmune disorders, neurological problems, and behavioral disorders. In general marine phytoplankton is superior to fish oil as a source for phospholipids that help us absorb long-chain, omega-3 fatty acids. In essence, the efficacy of fish oils, including cod liver oil, krill, and algae oils, will be improved when taken with marine phytoplankton.

If you are strict vegan or vegetarian and do not choose to consume any animal products whatsoever, then marine phytoplankton is strongly recommended. This will supply you with the essential long-chain forms of omega-3 (DHA and EPA).

Marine phytoplankton has a natural relationship with sulphur and it is recommended that you combine it with MSM. This appears to amplify the potency of both products, especially the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects.

(Note: all the information above comes from David Wolfe's book: Superfoods)

FedEx guys is delivering twelve 1-oz bottles today. $37/bottle if anyone is interested (normally $55-$65 when purchased singly). But just think... those blue whales are swimming around, mouths wide open, eating the stuff by the ton. The injustice in the world never ceases to amaze me....

"Someone didn't have their goji berries today"

Gogi Berries - not just breakfast for Ogden

The famed Li Qing Yuen, whom legend has it popularized both goji berries and ginseng, and is said to have lived to the age of 252 years (1678-1930), consumed goji berries daily.

A species of goji berries grows locally and is more commonly known as wolfberry

The goji berry is an adaptogen - a term used in the world of medicinal plants to describe a substance with a combination of therapeutic actions on the human body. In the Chinese medical system, the goji berry is known to harmonize and increase the jing energy of the adrenals and kidneys, resulting in enhanced stamina, strength, longevity, and sexual energy.

Goji berries are perhaps the most nutritionally rich berry-fruit on the planet. They are a complete protein source and contain 19 different amino acids (on par with bee pollen) and all eight essential amino acids (such as adrenal-supporting phenylalanine and serotonin-building tryptophan). Goji berries can contain twenty-one or more trace minerals (the main ones being zinc, iron, copper, calcium, germanium, selenium, and phosphorus) as well as B1, B2, B6, and vitamin E.

Contrary to popular belief goji berries contain little to no Vitamin C.

Goji berries contain long-chain sugars known as polysaccharides that fortify the immune system.

Gogi berries are the only food known to help stimulate the human body to produce more HGH (human growth hormone) naturally.

Goji berries:

* Enhance libido and sexual function

* Are an antioxidant

* Improve Vision

* boost the Immune system

* Supports Brain and Neurological Health

* Support Cardiovascular Health

* Helps keep vital organs healthy

A reasonable intake of goji berries is 15-45 grams per day (a handful). Purchase only organic goji berries (or grow your own!).

Up next..... Cacao - not just a snooty way to say chocolate!

Cacao: not just a snooty way of saying chocolate...

Every study on chocolate is pointing to the same conclusion: there is something in chocolate that is really good for us. That something is raw cacao bean, the nut that all chocolate is made from. The cacao bean has always been and will always be Nature's number-one weight loss and high-energy food. Cacao beans are probably the best-kept secret in the entire history of food.

Like all superfoods, chocolate straddles the line between a food and a potent and beneficial medicine. The raw cacao bean is one of nature's most fantastic superfoods due to its mineral content and wide array of unique properties. Since many of the special properties of cacao are destroyed by cooking, refining, and processing, planet Earth's favorite food is still unknown to most of us.

* Cacao contains the highest concentration of antioxidants of any food in the world. These antioxidants include polyphenols, catechins, and epicatechins. By weight, cacao has more antioxidants than red wine, blue-berries, açai, pomegranates, and goji berries combined.

* Cacao seems to be the number one source of magnesium, one or the great alkaline minerals. Magnesium supports the heart, increases brainpower, causes strong peristalsis, relaxes menstrual cramping, relaxes muscles, increases flexibility, helps build strong bones, and increases alkalinity.

* Cacao contains 314 percent of the U.S. RDA of iron per 1 ounce serving.

* Chromium is an important trace mineral that helps balance blood sugar. Nearly 80 percent of Americans are deficient in this trace mineral. Cacao contains enough chromium to help reverse deficiencies in this mineral.

* Cacao is rich in Zinc, Copper, Vitamin C, Omega-6 Fatty Acid, Phenylethylamine (PEA), Anandamide, Tryptophan, Serotonin.

* Contrary to popular belief cacao is a poor source of caffeine.

Recommended intake: 1 cacao bean per 10-15 pounds body weight.

I spent the weekend climbing with Mr. & Mrs. Steelmonkey (on their 12 year anniversary no less).

Friday - Drive up, sit around camp while Greg drank beer and I just watched. No beers or chips and guac for me. I ate nuts or some crap like that. Friday night was a can of soup.

Saturday - Felicia made me scrambled eggs for breakfast. Had a small sandwich on fake low-carb pita bread and for dinner went to Beaver Street Brewery and had salad with again NO BEER. 2 small slices of bread that Greg guilted me on and the roasted vegetables from his plate.

Climbing at the forks is always hard. No wonder I haven't been there in 3 years. Gag! But fun. Greg loves that place and it was afterall his anniversary.

Sunday - More of Felicia's scrambled Eggs. Supersized Low-carb monster, some water.... maybe some nuts and fruit later before a subway salad for dinner. More nuts and a peice of Feta cheese before dinner.

Sunday included climbing at the Pit. Weather was absolutely perfect and unseasonably cool (yet perfect) for June. Others picked up on that and the place was packed. We jockied around for our handful of routes and got out of there.

Back to work and mid-week snacking. I've decided that I actually do better when out climbing. Less things to tempt me and well, I'm occupied with other things.... like climbing.

Came home, sprinkler timer is broke, lawn looks really dry. Damn.

Down 5.2 from the weigh-in.

Thanks Lynn. Although, I don't think I've hit a wall...moreover, me just consuming more than I burn. Simple math and basic dieting skills are less intake, more output. Or as my silly fake-husband would say, "less Costco....more iron"

Tonight didn't help. I blew off the gym (yet again) and went to Costco. I wanted to pick up a $4.99 roasted chicken and some diet coke.

Came across Mrs. May's Ultimate Crunch on the Snack Isle facing the checkout.

Cracked the package on my way home. It may quite possibly be the best thing I've ever tasted. Totally YUMMMMYYYYYY but like all treats are intended for small doses. I need to put these one of those candy dispensers that only dump out XX amount per serving. I can't be trusted with a giant bag.

Couldn't take it anymore yesterday - had a BLT at 'Cake and Steak'. Somehow just found myself turning in as I drove by. Didn't have the fries with it which was a real test of willpower. Little itty-bitty bites - life is in the savoring.

Otherwise it's a cup of oatmeal with fruit every morning and some form of minimal dinner. Rhoda went basically vegatarian after Noel left for college last September and so our meals at home are just that, which plays into this whole affair reasonably well as I can't eat much of it in a meal.

Fogarty, please do not see this as picking on you. I would hope the opposite would result. I was 269 in march. I am now 236 or less, do not check every day. I could never succeed at this game until I did three things. I spent $50 bucks on a scale for food. They are available for much less, but I was seriously commiting to this.
The second thing I did was read labels, and only eat what I should. Nothing extra, no huge portions, no all fat snacks in place of dinner, no binges. Just consistant responsible eating.
The third was to join a commercially available support and information system. E-mail me if you are curious, as I do not want to advertise for them. I now know what to eat, and more importantly how much, has been a key to changing my size.
Speaking of which, my climbing is dramatically easier, balancy thin things that used to kick my butt, now just challenge me some, and are falling like the panties on 16 year olds.
I do not cheat myself or deprive me of goodies. I love a great bowl of buttery popcorn, salted just right. I just have the corn, without the fat. It is not too bad. About once or twice a month I have a LARGE dairy queen Blizzard, with oreo or cookie dough. Nice celebration for the work I put in. Key is to work for the treat for me. I eat all the calories I should everyday, so my body doesn't think it is starving. Then when I hike my butt off, and climb, and run, and work hard, row the raft in the river all day, all this activity burns way more than I take in, so I treat me to a snack. One. And dang if it isn't good. I am only targeting for two pounds a week, but have averaged over three so far. Too much lost too fast usually results in gain back, right away.
I have not been able to get up grade VI stone yet, and it was suggested twice that I get more commited, work harder for my goals, to succeed. Being fat is not in this plan. Thanks Peter Haan, once here, and once overheard him at the bridge say the same, about some bailing that takes place by people just like me. Did I mention the climbing is easier, more enjoyable, and I feel better, like the knees and such?
Come on you losers, if a fat old fart like me can do what has taken ten years or so to put on, in three months, ten pounds is a piece of, well not cake, maybe bean sprout?
Keep at it, stay the course, and most of all enjoy your new lifestyle, body shape, climbing ability, new found self esteem, and energy.
Besides, your almost there, right?

What's the consensus? Sunday the 21st for weigh out or the 22nd?

Sunday the 21st is a true 21 days of dieting (3 week blast). But Monday's are often easier to weigh in/out.

Either way, I'm hosed...vacation starts days before that and I have to now pack a scale.

second, sunday is father's day and id like to weigh out in the morning then drink a case of beer, smoke cigars, and have 3 steaks. i fricken deserve it.

In general, most of the diet challenges get tallied up at the end to see who owes what. So if you don't make your middle mark, you get $10 logged against you for later. I believe there have been folks who've turned it around in the last two weeks of the challenge and ended up making money overall. Seems like that would be easier than everyone shipping money here and there twice during the challenge.

When I wrestled in High Scrool we would put on a layer of sweats, topped with a plastic rain suit; crank the showers on to full hot and then skip rope until you dumped the weight.

Yes, yes - it was all water weight.

But we were only trying to make the weigh-in.

Ricky,

No extreme dieting allowed. Mostly that came from the old days when Charles Cole and Reed Bartlett would wrap themselves in cellophane and carry cement blocks up to Margaritaville or wherever the day before the weigh out. CC would sit and eat candy, tacos and burgers until the last two days and then magically he could drop it all.

Which is another reason we enacted the 2 week weigh-in... keep the bastards honest.

Russ, Blitzo and I all had grilled chicken salads for dinner at 9:30, that can't be good. I also think I over seasoned the chicken with jerk seasoning which plenty of sugar in it.

Humm, it's gonna be close.

I have only just started it myself so i cant give confirmed results but its definately working for me, so if your willing to give it a go that would be great!

I called it the sunday diet because on Sunday you can eat whatever you want!
BUT...For 7 days a week you have to do this over the period of each day:
-skipping for atleast 20 minutes
-atleast 100 push ups
-atleast 20 dead lifts
-and atleast 10 minutes of ab exercises
You can add any more exercises that you wish but these are the main ones i focus on

Now your diet from Monday to Saturday should consist of 6 small meals spread evenly across each day, make sure you are consuming less calories than you daily calorie requirement.

And thats about it! The joy of this diet i have found is that whenever i crave something i think NOO i have to wait until sunday. And it gives you something to look forward to, whether it be your favourite dessert of alcholic beverage. If you really want to dedicate yourself than do what i do, draw a big S on your hand with a pen or marker, this gives control. whenever you go to eat something you shouldn't you'l see the S and think i can eat this on Sunday! toy story Non Status Mortgages UK

I also believe your metobalism will benefit from The Sunday Diet because you consume so much more calories on Sunday, your body thinks there is an abundance of food so works harder to process it, than on Monday WHAM your body is still working hard trying to find that food but your outsmarting it from Monday to Saturday with healthy low calorie foods!

Anyway have a go at it if you want a low restricting diet plan and good luck!

Susan, and others,

I was just headed out the door, but felt the need to quickly clear up some incorrect information that was recently posted regarding the allegation of me failing to fulfill my duties as administrator of this event.

When i volunteered, i was under the impression that i was going to monitor the postings, track and post progress, and disperse funds to the winners. I was not aware that i was supposed to be involved with collection of unpaid debt from people who do not want to keep their word, and are just basically liars.

Susan, you were not elected to "mop it up". I felt that this was your event. You laid down the rules, and i thought that i was just assisting. i am sorry that you feel as though i did not do my job correctly.

Unlike others in this contest, i say what i mean, and do what i say. if you feel as though debt collection falls within the scope of my administrator duties, i will assist in recovery of unpaid funds.

As you know, i have successfully worked in the debt collection recovery industry for many years. As a licensed private investigator, and bail bond recovery agent, i always recovery the asset, or find my man, or woman.

Please let me know if you would like me to proceed with the collection process.

I also do not see any discrepancies on who was in or out. Two individuals said they were out, well in to the contest. Your contest, your rules, but i say they were in.

Humbly at your service,

Zip,

The mop-up electoral votes came from others not you so untwist your thong.

We appreciate your efforts and by no means am I implying you are at any fault. Unfortunately, keeping track of who is actually in the contest as well as correct winning or losing dollars is part admin duties. Along with, as much as it pains me....to follow up and often hassle those who have not paid then distribute the pay out to the winners.

As for this being my gig. I believe I made it perfectly clear that I wanted to participate in a diet challenge but not admin it. Now you see why.

I'm completely frustrated.

I tried to clear this mess up last week to no avail. I sent Julia an email along with a PayPal invoice for the money she owes the pot with no response from either.

I sent a note to Zip asking for him to PayPal me Joseph's payment so I could divvy up the winnings. I did receive a response but alas no $$ and a statement on how he was working on a non-profit event and he'd get back with me.

It is unfortunately but it seems the only reward you receive is losing 10 pounds in 3 weeks. Joseph, you get hosed too because you actually paid up but the dollar didnt' reach the intended.

Without this sounding like a rant, I'm disgusted and irritated. The rules just aren't that hard and frankly neither are facilitating them.

Sorry Blitzo, Chez and the others.... I tried.

And the hits just keep on coming!

If this was happening to someone else, i would find it funny.

Well, i am back from my "non-profit event", and have a few minutes to address this issue.

Susan,

I will still contact you off site, but just wanted to drop a quick note here.

I am sorry that i could not get back to you immediately, but as i stated earlier, i had a big event over the last week that i have been involved in.

I was trying to assist in raising funds for the Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber, and The Avalon Youth Athletic League.

Both of these organizations are important to me, but not as crucial as me becoming a member of the National Marrow Donor Program, which was a primary focus for me this last week.

Right now there is someone who could benefit from my donation, but i have hit a slight snag. I have had cancer. It has been 10 years, but they never really say you are cured, and this could prevent me from donating.

I had hoped to clear this ST issue up, off site, today, but need to go to my storage unit and dig through documents, that i had hoped i would never have to look at again.

The NMDP needs to know specifically what my medical prognosis was, before they can accept or decline my request to become a potential donor.

The NMDP has given me 48 hours to furnish the documentation.

I take my responsibilities seriously, but hope you understand that the NMDP will have to come first, before i attempt to resolve the issues here with ST.

Riley,

I was under the impression that you were in, and then withdrew, without making the goal. I don't have time right now to go back and read all of the posts. My apologies if i have made an accounting error.

Russ,

I really just don't see how you can give me a D-, when i feel that i have done everything that was requested of me. Did you give me this grade, because people are not paying? If yes, is this my fault, and how do you suggest that i get people to pay?

I am off to my storage unit now, and will try to respond as soon as i am able.

blew the engine in my old grand cherokee near the top of horseshoe meadow road late friday night.

spend the next 24 hours waiting for two trucks, riding in tow trucks, skateboard for miles through ridgecrest in 112 degree heat, sitting at 395 hitch hiking in 112 degree heat, caught a ride, skating and walking miles and miles through Corona, hitch hiking, not catching a ride, finally giving up and forking out $$ for a cab.

next morning i was 4 lbs below my goal weight for the superblast!!!

It would have been an "F" but for Joseph paying up.

From the initial list of participants, to the midpoint weigh-in, to the final list of winners and losers, there have been gross inaccuracies. Toss the non payers in, some of which are saying they have tried to pay but hit contact snags, and others that have not been contacted......so yeah, it sorta looks like a D- to me. Don't worry about it though... it's not like it's a real grade and it will not be on your transcripts, but a copy of it will go into your personal file.

Reverend Blitzo....

A proud winner of the diet challenge is now officially stranded. His rig which has been giving him trouble for some time no longer will move.

Sorry sucker is stuck out in a desert cabin with no cell phone coverage, no Internet access and a borrowed bike from Russ to pedaling down to town in 105 heat on a sandy dirt road in hopes of hopping public transit for beer runs.

Somehow I'm thinking that he needs any winning dollars he's due. And pronto.

Need more than that? Then read on.

This thread has been edited, the original May 28 post only stated, "3 weeks starting Monday June 1st. Goal lose 10 pounds in 3 weeks." and I responded positively on the 29th. Then "rules" were posted later on the 29th, and now shown as an edit to the original post. I posted quickly after that, "ugh. rules."

Then, on June 16th, in a response to the ongoing debate re: losers, not winners, pay up stuff, I wrote,

"zip, although i was the the first responder to sp's thread, if you'll pay attention, my only other response was the 7th post of the now 300+, when i posted something along the lines of "ugh, rules." that pretty much sums it up for me. i'm continuing on my personal journey, losing weight (lost 50 in 18 weeks, 10 to go). i'm more fully understanding what comprises a healthy intake of food (i hesitate to use the word diet which has accumulated associations with a restricted intake of food, rather than a normal and healthy "diet" or partaking of nutrition), as well understanding my previous cognitive dissonance in this arena. but I play on my own terms, not others. please accept the fact that i opted out of susan's scheme early on, yet continue personal efforts of self improvement. yours truly, very anxious about my melancholy."

So I was originally interested and eager in playing along with you all, but some of the rules didn't fit with my personal goals. It would have been disingenuous for me to loose the weight the way I was, (am) and claim that I was following those rules. Or stated differently, I would not have felt good about collecting money from people who were following the rules yet may not have reached their loss goal, when I was successful, yet used "extreme dieting" techniques to do so.

Bottom line, sorry if my "ugh, rules" and follow-up post wasn't clear. Personally, my "ugh rules" post was intended as a notice of my withdrawal from the challenge. At the time of my original post I was already dieting, that's why I was interested. But upon the posting of the rules I understood that my approach was not in alignment with the challenge's. I have successfully dropped the weight (got pictures!) but feel that living exclusively, for a period of months, on "diet shakes" represents the forbidden "extreme dieting."

I guess at this piont I'm a little confused as to how to proceed. I feel like I opted out early and honestly.

We try to use simple terms here in diet challenge land.....

things like, "I'm in"

or "I'm out."

After all, it is a wager or bet that the weight will come off. Bets and who is making them and taking them use concrete terms.

"ugh, rules" is a mind readers dream, and we are a little short on mind readers at the moment. Say we make a bet that A is going to happen, and you agree to the bet.... but then I add "on a Thursday after 10pm" and you say "ugh, rules".... I'm not hearing "I'm out".

Let your conscience be your guide.....

I received $57.14 info my PayPal account today, I'll be passing this along to Blizo when I see him. On a side note, Blitzo rode the loaner bike down to Russ' the other day. 110+ outside and 14 miles, didn't have the juice to ride home and had to bivy, Locker came and fetched him the next day.

I'm not sure how all donated their winnings to the Blitzo fund but I'll make sure your dollars are delivered or maybe even put into Escrow so he can get his car fixed.
