Check the foldout in the book by Heinrich Harrer, "The White Spider." for a good topo of the standard north face route. Not much has changed except the ice fields are smaller!

Haven't seen a topo of the Eiger in a while.
Looks like there's been some serious thread drift!

It does if you have climbed over there, but you can soon learn. It is not too difficult even for an American climber.

I would be surprised if you'd be able to find a topo like any of those found in the supertopo books, if thats what youre looking for. That kind of route is always changing and I would think it has more to do with your improvisition of route finding than following a specific crack system for 4,000 ft.

...But maybe you already knew that.

...The pic above with the line showing the route and pinpointing specific sections is pretty good.

...I have an old copy of the white spider I will have to take a look at the "topo" in there. I'm curious.

Although I haven't looked specifically at the book containing the Eiger, I would be confident that the appropriate Swiss Alpine Club guide would have lots of info (they certainly do for every other mountain I have ever checked).

For example, the Alpine Club Guide "Berner Alpen 4" seems to cover the Eiger:

I dont know exactly what routes this guide contains, but it would be a start.

Pete.
