What Woody said:

"Lois,
Keep it up. There is a set of people that you irritate, and they will call just about anything you post as a troll. On the whole, they are a shallow lot. I've usually found your posts worth reading and reflecting on."

More wisdom from Woody:

"Hang in Lois. I love the way you irritate some of these guys. They actually have to think when you post something, and that's very demanding for them."

Lois, since you 'are' DMT you of course know who Beth is, if you go back to that thread and skim the posts you will find the answer, as well. If you do that and still don'e get it, there is no point in pursuing this any farther....

I almost suspect Rox = LEB but just in case you are serious Rox, the slut thing is an inside joke that even Lois forgets from time to time. (not that being a slut is so bad, it's a service occupation)

I posted this the last time I was called out for calling Lois a Slut

"See my edit above Lois.

A supertopo search of LEB and slut returns 151 results. A supertopo search of Karl and slut returns 23 returns, eight of which were written by LEB and 9 were written by Me or Moosie!

It's a long running joke that you yourself have fed. So funny it strikes you out of the blue now!

love you

Well, since it was YOU who got all on my nutsack, Rox, I guess it's easy enough to see that I've only responded to your (typical) BS. I'd guess, since you're supposedly of the adult model, that you'd know by now that if you start talking trash, people will eventually respond. Just like your angry, uncalled for post here about Karl. You're a piece of sh#t, dude. Hiding behind a keyboard, talking trash. No wonder you fit into this thread as a supporter...

Secondly, you approached ME telling me you'd discovered that the fields could hold HTML code but had NO idea how to exploit it. I only mention it because you HAVE gone on telling people that YOU figured out the weakness, when in fact you didn't. You figured out there was a weakness there, but didn't know how to take advantage of it, as you know nothing about HTML code, even as simple as an image tag.

Enter me, who figured it out before any of the rest of you wankers. Then the next guy who added the java code for the pop-ups. All the while you sending me mails practically begging me to share how I did it. Yes, you're right, you don't know anything about HTML code. No biggie. But where the rub is, is that you're also a self-righteous prick of a fellow who hdes behind a keyboard cause the other one hasn't quite dropped yet, who will eventually get exactly what you wished on Karl up-thread, the day you let the other one drop and smart off like that in person.

But, keep it coming. As I said elsewhere, Russ needed a break. And I have all day to be amused at your insolence.

edit: instead of constantly editing your previous posts, step up and use new posts, f*#ktard. Maybe you can give us all a lesson on HTML, CSS and Java while you're at it, smart guy. You're pathetic. hahaha

hahaha Yeah, nice try. Try again, lamer. Your words above more than clear it up for everyone...

It's pretty simple and exactly as I stated above and as you stated on the day it happened - see above pic. You had the inkling that it could be done but weren't man enough to do it.

So, feel free to go back and read the thread that *I* started where you admit to coming in second. Yeah, you're obviously holding back and "being overly generous, not wanting to call you out at the time" there. AssClown.

edit: Just to keep with the theme and all - I take NO credit for making Rokjox look like a complete jackass. He did that all by himself. All I did was repost his words, showing his lie. So, I just "Gotta give credit where it is due".

Do you really want to keep doing this? I mean, seriously. You're pointing to things that are gonna simply make you look even more like a jackass, dude. At least make it a bit challenging...

Incidentally, I HAVE saved the thread, as I know how you like to go back and edit/delete your posts...

edit: Never said I did do any work on it prior to you asking.

All your posts are doing are proving what I've said to be right. You posted, saying that you had an idea that there was an exploit and then asked for help. The *next* post (mine), was with an avatar, and said something like "You mean like this"? Took me about 2 minutes to figure it out, dude. If that.

As I stated above, you had an idea, I did the work that made it happen. I simply called you on you trying to make it sound like you did it all by yourself.

Next...

I didn't correct anything of yours, dude. Why would I need to? I write webpages for a living, dumbass. I surely don't need you (who was self-admittedly incapable) to show me how to type out an image tag.

"You had NO interest in the problem and were NOT working on it."

Now you're simply back to arguing with yourself again. I NEVER said I was, ignoramus!

I'm simply not sure what you think you're gaining at this point. You're honestly just showing yourself to be a liar and a minipulator (glad you're keep things On Topic tho). "CO2 has never driven, does not drive and never will drive weather or Climate. Global warming is over and it never was anything to do with CO2. CO2 is still rising but the world is now cooling and will continue to do so. Those who claim man's CO2 is driving weather or Climate must produce evidence. They cannot do so because there is no such evidence and they cannot even forecast anything. All they do is wait for extreme events and say that whatever happens is what they expected. What fatal flowers of darkness spring from seeds of light.

LEB writes

"Now I will let you in on a little secret. I have landed the job of a lifetime. It is everything I have always wanted and more. BUT here is the big but.....I had to endure an awful place and an awful trial to get there. Nine months of sheer, unmitigated hell, however, after dealing with you guys lo these years, it was a piece of cake. Who knows that I could have stuck out what I needed to do without this experience. I had to deal with negativity on par with what is on this forum in order to get from there to where I am now. Of course I will never know for sure but I can't help but think that this experience has paved the way and allowed me to do what I had to do so as to be where I am now. '

There's a ring of truth to this.

It's also been good for us tough men to know that the power of your obliviousness could overcome our tough exterior and drive us out of our composure zone into the desire to strangle you. Really. We think we're strong but you've shown us we can still lose our minds. Look at poor Locker, the latest victim.

Now there's two things. Lois, you might recognize that you did transgress the appropriate in your a*#ertions about Woody. You were speaking with his grieving personal friends who had bonding adventures with him and your posting on the internet with Woody is not the same.

There's a time to back off and this issue has challenged many of us here to find how far to back off on Woody's death and how far to press ahead with our views. You aren't the only one whose judgement has been questioned here and the answers are up on the air, but you may have overstepped your bounds and should just consider saying so.

Ok that's one thing. I forgot the other thing. But maybe it was this:

Regarding the appropriateness of having email relationships with members of the opposite sex...seems kinda Taliban to me. Your husband should have faith in you and it would undoubtedly be well placed. Why should our friendships be so circumscribed?

I don't know what it is about your writing style or personality, LEB, but you are sure a confident person. Even when being humble, which I am not sure I've ever seen, you are absolutely positively confident about your shortcomings. When you think you are right, you are 100% sure that you are right and when you might admit some failing, you are 100% sure about your failing. There is never a moment where there is doubt in anything you write. Maybe it's just writing style but it is sure there in your posts.

LEB, for some reason, the "I" and "Me" words in your posts stand out more than in other peoples posts.

I didn't know Woody even if I did read some of his posts. A post on the internet is not a person and there is no way to know anyone here from anything written here. I also have no idea how any of his friends feel about their loss and about their friend even though I have lost people. No one can know another's pain regardless of what LEB thinks. Regardless of my small meaningless connection here, I do send condolences to all involved and I am sorry for your loss even if it is not mine. I am a climber and losing a climber to climbing always is saddens.

I'm also sorry for LEB. I don't feel sorry for LEB, I am just plain sorry and my condolences go out to those that have to deal with that which is LEB and that which has no ability to say out of something when asked.

I also know nothing about the salinity of the Hudson (wasn't that the heading on this thread?). I do know that Lake Tahoe is darned cold right now and with ski season coming to an end and kayak season months away, climbing may be my only alternative. Dang, doesn't that suck ;-)

Dave

P.S. "et al" really wasn't the best choice here. "etc..." would also be bad since both would suggest that the topic pertains to the salinity of that particular river and other rivers. Being clever leads to being dumb. Use "Salinity of the Hudson and Other Topics" if that is what you mean. Don't beat around the bush. (locker will do that for you, I'm sure). If you must use "etc..." then add another unrelated item to the list so that "etc..." is the third item. This gives a better varying context as in "Salinity of the Hudson, Haircare for the Pope, etc..."

LEB writes

"Now about this Woody thing, I DO feel strongly about the particular issue in contention and I am doing so for Woody's benefit - not because I want to step in all your collective sh#t. I could be wrong about it and, then again, I could be right about it. I have a valid point which I have made - whether it is accurate or not is another issue. I have a "right" to do something which I perceive is in his best interest. You can argue about the substance of what I put forth but to suggest I have no "right" to speak to it is plain inaccurate."

Here's where you're mistaken Lois. Woody screwed up 100% and we all know it. Doesn't mean we fault him. We all screw up, sometimes it gets us but most of the time it doesn't. Since you don't have a clue about what happened, you don't have a right to weigh in wrongly about it.

But I don't expect you to abandon your pit bull approach. If I die, you can come moarn my death online and others are free to flame you for it. Just the way the world turns it seems as even if people do learn with time, they learn dang slow so it will be same as it ever was

haha, Cosmic! I hoped someone would post that, Lois/ lucy 'toon. I was gonna look for it, if not...

Lois, did you see the the cartoon analysis from (gasp) RC.com that someone linked back a few pages on this thread? Check it out, if you have any more questions, I think this gives one a conceptual overview of the accident.

Locker, oh well, just trying to send you a quick and easy job... I wish you hadden't reminded me that my blowup doll needs work too...

Werner, I think that sums it up better than anything I've ever heard (re, the world situation and the short bus) I love how you can look at the world and remind us of who we are!

Everyone should rent the movie "King of Hearts" trust me

"Maybe your absurd objection to the "Woody Check" is a fear that someday someone will coin the phrase the "Lois Check". That would be where a patient dies because the nurse was derelict in her duties because she was distracted by slag fests on the blogs. "

Lois already has her internet fame here

The Loising Point and LEBification!

http://www.supertopo.com/climbing/thread.html?topic_id=497677

Dear Lois

As a worthy partner in our love-hate relationship, I must dedicate the following tribute to you to mark this occasion of your leaving me.

The nature of Internet discussion has created new idioms for communication protocol like “Goodwin’s Law”

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goodwin%27s_law

You deserve a law named for you and I consider it my duty to propagate this law across cyberspace for the sanity of the world and to render you lasting fame. A legacy that I know you will actually cherish despite any negative connotations.

So without further ado. Let me present “Lois’s Law” and it corollary principle, “the Loising Point”

+++++++++++++++++++

I have an internet friend named Lois.

She just doesn’t “get it” sometimes.

The truth is we all don’t “Get it” to different degrees about something or another.

But Lois embodies obtuseness in such a way that I realize that a certain threshold of blindness is a cosmic principle in human relationships. We can talk until we are blue in the face but some people will never, ever, ever, ever, Ever “get it”

Get used to it.

“Hey Lois, can you see the nose on your face?”

“I don’t see it. Everybody else’s face seem to have a nose but I can’t see one on me”

“Lois, look way down above your lips, you gotta see it.”

“All I see is a blurry blob. It doesn’t look anything like the nose on your face.”

“Come on Lois, when you have a cold, what’s all the snot come out of?”

“Oh Lord, when it’s cold season my cat gets a cold and her nose drips all over my clean sheets. But me, I’ve never heard anything about any nose that might be on my face”

“Yeah Lois, but I searched on the internet and I found 12 examples of people telling you about the nose on your face.”

“You never can be too sure of anything. I heard of a man whose nose was shot off by his ex-wife, I bet he still get colds and he didn’t have a nose. What do you mean by nose?”

I could go on and on,

and it does go on and on.

But the point is simple.

And that is

When you’ve gone around and around trying to communicate something to someone, made your case clear, logical, documented and presented it from every conceivable viewpoint.

And that person can’t even acknowledge the issue to disagree on.

And when their responses inevitably turn into a self-referential feedback loop

That person will never get your point

But you’ve reached theirs

You’ve

reached

their

“Loising point.”

Any further discussion will only deteriorate into the “Loisification” of the subject.

The self-referential feedback loop will imprint excess bandwidth hum over any further progress in the debate.

The topic is lost and the subject reverts to "Me, Me, Me"

Don’t go there. When you reach someone’s “Loising Point” stop engaging. The discussion and only be “Loised-up” at that point.

If you take somepoint to the Loising point.

Step

Away

From

The

Computer!

Nite Nite and much Love Lois dear who writes

"So what that means is if you want to chat, you know where to find me - right here . Same rule applies - anything and everything is fair game for discussion. Otherwise , I'm out of here. ST has gotten simply too poopy, of late. A whole lot of people here just took dumps at the campsite instead of going over to the latrine. "

Yes, the strategic retreat! Jody is master of it. You've even done it once not very convincingly I think.

In any case, Whatever you decide, have fun with my best wishes

(cause fighting you will never work)

Peace

Soon after hearing of the accident, it occurred to me that physiological factors might have contributed to it. The general ones we're all familiar with - tired, dehydrated, low blood sugar, distracted by noise, sun in eyes.... Or something more specific, e.g. a stroke or seizure of some kind.

I refrained from saying anything about this, and have said little about the accident on SuperTopo. I only 'knew' Woody, and 'know' most of those others involved, through SuperTopo, and through being a climber. It was unclear what had happened, and there was no need to add to speculation as to why. Most important, I wasn't there, and it seemed likely that the accident and its causes would be thoroughly investigated by people much more qualified than I, people who were there. Eventually we'd hear the full story, though these things can take time. Though maybe we'd never entirely know. So I pretty much STFU. It wasn't my place to offer much more than condolences.

Exactly Anders. We thought a heart attack may have contributed based on the early false reports. I believed we would learn exactly what happened due to the limited possibilities and there being witnesses. God bless Al and thanks for that. Tragic bummer though.

The first reports were so bogus. What was up with that? Is there an explanation for this? Anyone?

I don't understand how the NPS could have gotten it so wrong. The press only printed what the NPS gave them. The NPS put the same thing in its Morning Report.

Back in Ripper's office with gunfire sounding in the background, General Ripper puts a comforting - and menacing - arm around a worried Mandrake's shoulder, revealing his completely paranoidal, psycho-sexual, psychotic lunacy. As Mandrake realizes he is speaking face-to-face with the real enemy and is literally being gripped by him, he nervously fingers and folds a piece of chewing gum in his fingers in front of him. According to the nutty, obsessed General who has found a scapegoat for his own sexual inadequacies in the Russkies, Commies are unaffected by the plot to pollute the water of the world because they drink vodka:

Ripper: Mandrake?
Mandrake: Yes, Jack?
Ripper: Have you ever seen a Commie drink a glass of water?
Mandrake: Well, I can't say I have.
Ripper: Vodka, that's what they drink, isn't it? Never water?
Mandrake: Well, I-I believe that's what they drink, Jack, yes.
Ripper: On no account will a Commie ever drink water, and not without good reason.
Mandrake: Oh, eh, yes. I, uhm, can't quite see what you're getting at, Jack.
Ripper: Water, that's what I'm getting at, water. Mandrake, water is the source of all life. Seven-tenths of this earth's surface is water. Why, do you realize that seventy percent of you is water?
Mandrake: Uh, uh, Good Lord!
Ripper: And as human beings, you and I need fresh, pure water to replenish our precious bodily fluids.
Mandrake: Yes. (he begins to chuckle nervously)
Ripper: Are you beginning to understand?
Mandrake: Yes. (more laughter)
Ripper: Mandrake. Mandrake, have you never wondered why I drink only distilled water, or rain water, and only pure-grain alcohol?
Mandrake: Well, it did occur to me, Jack, yes.
Ripper: Have you ever heard of a thing called fluoridation. Fluoridation of water?
Mandrake: Uh? Yes, I-I have heard of that, Jack, yes. Yes.
Ripper: Well, do you know what it is?
Mandrake: No, no I don't know what it is, no.
Ripper: Do you realize that fluoridation is the most monstrously conceived and dangerous Communist plot we have ever had to face?

Author Michael Crichton warned of the dangers of "consensus science" in a 2003 speech. He says "Consensus is the business of politics.

Science, on the contrary, requires only one investigator who happens to be right, which means that he or she has results that are verifiable by reference to the real world.

In science consensus is irrelevant. What is relevant is reproducible results. The greatest scientists in history are great precisely because they broke with the consensus."
