Never met they guy but was inspired the moment I saw videos of him climbing. Was just climbing today in Woodfords Canyon and was looking up at Epoxy Wall and was amazed at all the effort he put into that thing. Mostly amazed at all the routes that he did up there. His presence is felt there for sure.

Dan-O Bump. Most gripping footage I've ever seen was his solo of Gun Club at the NRG.

Dano-bump.
I got to meet Dano at a party in Yos west about a month before he died. He was making a hamburger for himself and loading bingers for anyone who wanted one, didn't matter if he knew you or not. I remember he was sooooo focused on that hamburger, it really showed me how he applied his craftsman's mentality to everything he did.

Bump.
Hey, does anyone know the story behind the monster whipper Dan takes in Masters of Stone. He is on an overhanging crack pitch which looks like should take good gear and he bails and rips out a bunch of gear. Something tells me he had this planned and placed terrible gear in hopes of big falls.
RIP bro

I remember when Dan-O asked if he could borrow one of my climbing rope's. He also invited me to the Rostrum.
what a awesome setup and what a rush to see him dive into the air!
will always remember Dan-O!

"I think, remembering my friend, makes him live forever."
Coz I really like this statement.
Osman was an inspiration to me to push myself on my safe little sports routes when I started climbing. To see him solo hard 5.12 just made me feel like I could push myself a little harder.

I remember his first hit of freebase, the tempura that he cooked, his glue-on boulder problems, seeing Metallica with him, the 5.13 house problem and smoking dope and head banging to metal. RIP Dan!

I can't believe that it was almost 11 years ago that I read that story that john m. wrote on rec.climbing about Danno hunting his stuff down.

Yep. Feeling old but smiling at how truly funny some of the old rec.climbing threads were. That DanO story started a classic.

Too bad he didn't make it to see the wing suit BASE jump era.
That would have been right up his alley.
And now other posters to this thread have also passed.
RIP Dan-O and Blitzo
