Loving them is fine w/ me too.
Jesus, Gandhi, & MLK would have asked us to love them all, regardless of their political opinions.
I just don't respect them...

Lois, Warbler is 79. He is the second oldest person to climb El Cap. He has arthritis and suffers from frostbite damage that happened on McKinely. The cold gives him a lot of trouble.

Had McCain conducted his campaign the way he spoke last night at his consession speach I may have voted for him. Instead he has sounded like your typical republican hate monger for the last 3 months. They say your true colors show under stress so its a good thing he showed us the bitter side of him when he did. Hopefully we can make something positive out of this new direction with Obama.

79 eh? Too funny you guys.
What were the run-outs on space babble like with hemp rope? Jesus that must have been scary!

There are many ways to use hemp rope.
Even if you are 79.

LEB, Warbler is one of the great pioneers of Yosemite's Golden Age. It's important to show him a little consideration, be generous when he, you know... There aren't many posters here who've been climbing for longer than him, and we cherish every pearl of wisdom that drops from his lips.
Warbler will be one of the more respected figures at the Yosemite reunion this weekend, and I understand that he dearly hopes to live long enough to vote against Palin in 2012.

What are you people talking about, Kev, oops I mean The Warbler, is only a year older than McCain, or is that a year younger than Obama? I always get confused.

jstan came before even the Golden Age. I'm pretty sure he wrote a very great deal about the Iron Age, and things like that. No doubt he and Warbler have a lot to talk about, though. Climbing undoubtedly fosters longevity - if you live long enough.

Space Babble is easy with hobnails. Depends on how you file them.
Lois, Kevin didn't become the Warbler until his voice started quak'n. His mind is still sharp and he still knows how to use hemp, at least so I hear. Here is a picture of Kevin before he dislocated his shoulder.
All old climbers use preservers.
See you this weekend, Buzz

love them or hate them is no longer the option. The right and the left, in congress and all across america need to stop the petty bickering and sit down and talk and work together to pull us out of this mess.
Republicans have used the filibuster for the last two years to stop anything from getting done. that has got to end and we need to cross the isle and get to work. it starts here and now..

LOL, Sorry Lois. I was just pulling your chain last night. Kevin is not 79. He is only 78 hahaha.. Okay.. Okay.. I don't really know how old he is except I know his is older then 28 and deserves a lot of respect for all of the things he has done. and I made up that other stuff. He climbed the Capitan this summer.
Sorry about the fibs. I just thought you were treating him like he is some child and I thought you should show a bit more respect. You certainly did that when you thought he was an oooooooold man. haha. I'm smiling here Lois. I'm not trying to be mean.
Kevin. Would you please get her what she wants so we don't have to listen to her chiding you anymore. haha.

Just for the record. I don't think of 80 as old. In my thirties, I worked for a farmer who was 80. He worked me into the ground every day. We often put in 12 hour days during picking season and we would put in some all nighters as he had orchards and we had to protect the trees from freezes. 80 isn't old unless you make it that way. Plus my grandmother use to be on the committee at her church to visit the elderly. She was in her 80s and would visit people in there homes who were 10 and 15 years younger. Some of it is state of mind and some of it has to do with how healthy you remain. I'm sure that Ouch was a young man until the health problems hit him. I know Jstan certainly works like a young man though I don't know how old he is. I don't care. I like his style.
I had serious health problems in my 40s and often felt like I was 100 years old. I am only recently starting to turn that around. I admire those who keep on trucking.
