Hi Amanda, I'd sure love to see your pics...
however, when I clicked on the link you posted

and then clicked on "my gallery"

RE: "click on the link and and go to my gallery"

I didn't see your pics;

maybe it's early in the AM, am I missing something?

Yeah, any input making this better is much appreciated. Any tips on using flickr, since I am not so savvy with the pics?

RE:
"since I am not so savvy with the pics?"

not much help here - I tend to post pics
from a web (Photobucket) host, however
there are a number of folks around who
should be able to help...

generally, if you copy/paste the address
from the address bar (top) while you
are looking at your album...

Anyway, no worry, most of us asked for
help posting/sharing pics - it isn't
the most intuitive thing :)

cheers,
Ray

Thanks Amanda, and Clint - those are amazing! I remember seeing the Bircheff brothers around the Valley in the mid-1970s, and always being a bit intimidated, just because they were a bit older.

Is there any way to add captions to the photos, so we know who/where/when? Or post the photos directly here, with captions?

Nice photos ...

BUT

how about some captions, eh? Us young'uns don't know who's who. I do recognize the sixth pitch of Exclibur - once considered the hardest lead on El Cap. I bivi'd at the base of that one, and hung my ledge off a Fish Hook, just for fun.

Well guys and girls, I am waiting until my Dad gets back next week for captions, names, tags, etc... I am a young'un, and only know a few faces. There are also about 200-300 more slides to go through so we'll get some more out there soon! Thanks everyone for the help, and if there's a pic on there that someone took, and wants taken off, please let me know. There were several boxes of slides sent from different people. So I will be scanning away today to get some more up. Happy day!
Ooh, one more thing. I have access to a cabin at the base of Tahquitz here in SoCal. It's $45 a night, owned by a generous friend. If any one is interested in climbing down here, and needs a place to crash, the cabin sleeps 10 people. For those that have never heard of Tahquitz or suicide rock, it's a 5.6 - don't quote me on that- and a little piece of the Sierras down here in the low desert. So send me your e-mails if interested to luvebug222@yahoo.com. Fun place!

Thanks for sharing those photos Amanda

Good to see those faces again.

Dale and Dave did a very early ascent of Excalibur. It was quite an epic story of heat and dehydration. Maybe you could get your Dad to recount it? I know a lot of people would like to hear about it.
