Cell phone law should include a clause banning them completely and replacing them with these:

or they should be implanted under the skin like Dog ID chips

Nuff said right there.

^ Yeah wait until some distracted dumbass on a phone kills me then let some cops conduct an inquisition to determine whether (s)he was driving legally.

We need checkpoints like they have for alchohol where anyone caught with a cell phone in an automobile that is not implanted beneath h(er,is) skin has it immediatley confiscated and pounded into a plowshare.

Oooh, I thought you worked the 395. I feel a run up to Mammmoth in the Lambo is in order.

Lambo eh? Is it anything like mine?

No.

Now I haven't researched this at all, but I do recall seeing some statistics that showed the percentage of accidents (deaths?) due to cell phone usage grossly exceeds the percentage due to e.g. shaving, putting on eye make-up, adjusting the radio, masturbating, talkin' sheeit, etc.

Oddly enough, the researchers found no incidents of people dying (or even having a traumatic injury), whilst driving their automobile and having sexual intercourse. Can't say if this includes both the homo and hetero variants. Necrophilial? - let's not go there, since presumably one or the other was already dead.

Peace.

My question is why can you get a ticket for a cracked windshield? What is the compelling public safety issue? I understand the tail lights and smog rules. I can see the arguments regarding cell-phones and seatbelts and helmets (whether I agree or not)

But I've never had any concerns about a cracked windshield.

Because if the cracks continue to spread, it impedes visibility

That's what they say, but vast quantities of empirical evidence that I have gathered suggest that to be a spurious claim of risk at best. But I am also capable of driving safely in the rain and snow. Or when it is dark outside. Even with a severely cracked windshield. Cracks are minor compared to many other common visibility issues.

I can barely see out of my windshield as it is... I don't see how the cracks make it any worse.

About laws like cracked windshields and everything else.

You're not supposed to question this.

You are SHEEP and you WILL obey the fuking law!!!!!

It's there because your too stupid take care of your own self.

Other people are there to tell you what to do SHEEP.

Now STFU and obey and do as you're told.

Or else ..... !!!!!

Good point Werner. Sometimes I wonder if my life would be better if I just followed your advice.

But I'm not particularly excellent at being a sheep. I am getting somewhat better at appearing to be one when it matters.

I will say that a new windshield is a pretty sweet luxury. But I find myself taking more pictures while driving.

You think driving while texting is tricky? hehe try taking pics with zoom while driving unfamiliar roads at full speed.

The windshield actually provides support to the structural integrity of the vehicle. A cracked windshield will not be as strong and could result in less protection in a rollover

A windshield is also designed as part of the airbag system. A weakened windshield can cause the airbag to deploy improperly.

I do not own a windshield company, and yes, I drive with cracked windshields until I get a fix-it ticket.

I guess you haven't experienced compromised safety glass falling out like sugar...pretty scary, let alone dodging the shards created by it.

Let's talk statistics. My last 3 accidents involved other people on cell phones hitting me.
I've never been hit by a drunk driver. Seems like my odds are better with the drunks.
