626 people came in today in 5 hours (the best yet). It is breaking all previous attendance records. 150 people showed up in a 40 minute period after lunch. The docents are saying that they have never seen people spend so much time for other exhibits. There was a pretty good Fresno Bee article in todays paper. I hope you all can see it before it comes down in October. Take care.

There is some interest in where this exhibit will go next. So far, maybe the Chamonix Climbing Museum or somewhere in Berkeley (Bancroft Library or other venue). What do you all think?

Perhaps the American Alpine Club would be interested in co-sponsoring the show, maybe to travel to several locations? It seems to fit with their interests, history and resources.
The Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies may be a possibility, although it's more a library than a museum. http://www.whyte.org/ But it might in turn might be supported by the Alpine Club of Canada.
I suppose you could try to link it to the 2010 Olympics, though it's rather a stretch. Still, there will be money around here for cultural things to do with mountains.
Just as long as the exhibit is still in Yosemite during the FaceLift!

It will be there during the Facelift. The Yosemite Fund and Royal Robbins, Inc. funded the exhibit so they have a say in the next location.

Bill, Ken - that's cool. Nice to see it get a second life. Fine art as far as I'm concerned. I've been keeping my eye open for one of those Cobra Hooks ever since.

785 people went through the doors today. I am having to go in at least three times a day to untangle the wires on the inter-active wall. Some climbers have been coming in to help out with this. I don't know who you are but I want to thank you.

Some chump bootied one of my cams from the interactive wall today. It was a two and a half Wild Country Friend with some light blue paint on it and red 9/16" webbing. It is of no real historical significance. It came off my rack and I bought it in 1980. I don't think I have another to replace it.If it was a climber, I hope they use it then return it.

I have an original Wild Country 2.5 Friend, rigid stemmed. Probably from about 1981 - whenever they first appeared. Its trigger wires may have been replace once or twice, and also its sling. If it's essential to the display, something might be worked out. Have your people talk to my people, and we'll do FaceLift.
I suspect there are lots of them around in people's attics and basements, the "gear I don't use any more that may be worn out, but that I haven't gotten rid of" piles.
How are the attendance figures?
Last year, PTPP professed not to know of the FaceLift, although he was in the Valley then, or soon after/before. And now he says he doesn't know where the display is?
