....but after Death draws the curtains, you'll have no wisdom left.

You lose.

No, its true. Death mentioned it to me HIMSELF.

So, I'll see your J. Garcia avatar and raise you one....

to date, no-one has successfully instilled dream or expression filters on my thunker.

You say that like you're proud of it. You should be man enough to realize when you are wrong and be able to change.

There's nothing wrong with saying you are not impressed with his ascent. Although most climbers here will shake our heads because we are impressed with the FIRST GRADE VII SOLO FA in history.

Where you need an "expression filter" is
all you do with your energies is scrape at mountains
it also suggests an unwillingness to accept deeper challenges.. like that of selflessness.
You insult someone who is a hard working dude who has earned many people's respect. It's your right to say it, but you don't know what you are talking about.

Anyone know if Turner was back this season?

Again, my question.

Please, keep it on topic guys, this is what everyone is bitching about today.

It seems like DaveT is a cool, stoked guy who went out of his way to share, not spray, about his great trip.

Stuff like this on the thread is going to deter him from posting again about any other trips, and I for one, enjoy reading about trips that I can't afford/ even begin to match up to.

Norwegian, I love you brother, truly.
However, please take this discussion elsewhere.

You've been trippin' pretty hard the last few months. Maybe, sometimes, when you think something, its not always best to write it down on someone elses thread. I remember when I thought I had the world figured out, too. I think I was 16.

Ricardo, Dave was back, but I think he was mainly guiding.

Norwegian, I see your challenge but am not interested in going back and forth with you here. My original comment stands, your are a clueless idiot for coming here and speaking negatively about Dave and this climb, and your "poetry" sucks so please just stfu.

As always... right on Kate!

Dave is so much more than a climber. The ascent he did is one of the top solo ascents ever done, anywhere. If someone is too stupid to understand the magnitude of what he did then I wouldn't put too much stock in what they have to say. Like Kate said, many of us are so much more than posters on the Taco!!! Some posers just can't handle the jealousy they feel deep inside. Plus Dave was smart too... he used every saftey precaution and planned for every contingency... no crazy stuff for Dave... he kept his life and reached his dream.

So badasssssss. Thanks for the armchairing Dave. Did you hang with Matt M down there??? I'm still laughing at all the useless drivel that unfortunately made it to this thread. I bet the "not knowing" was at an uncomprehensible level. Congratulations on your epic and historic solo. Way to hang it WAY out there.

I haven't read all the posts on this now long thread, but I for one thought people were a little hard on Norwegian, I guess he's now been driven out of the room. Yea, Dave did a great climb; perhaps the biggest ever. But there was a little spray in the original post. Of course that's what we do here - so I'm good with that. If people didn't talk about their climbs we'd all think no one was doing sh#t.

But I do consider that life is bigger than just climbing and I don't think Norw was out of line to move the focus of our collective attention a bit. Big climbs or little climbs - its all a game in the end and in my book should be kept in that context.

(I'm now ducking beneath my desk - let the fire begin)

Bump. Met him at the bridge the other day and could not think of his name. Typed patagonia 34 days grade 7 wall in google cause thats all I can remember. Nice guy. Curious about what he has in mind on these days about the future?

Could not agree more, HAM. I spent some time with DT at the bridge while he was doing the Talk to a Climber gig. Very pleasant and humble young man with a great sense of humor. Props to Dave T.

Concur with Mikey. Dave's just a washed-up has-been who stands around on the bridge telling everyone stuff about who's climbing what.

;)

Nice seein' ya, Dave....
