With Moj constantly finding gems, I'm starting to itch for the Batholith...

Roy suggested summertime...July could be a bit hot, but June or August are great times...

Would trying to align this near the Vedauwoo sushifest help or hurt attendance?

I'm in. As long as it doesn't conflict with my wall trip in late May that is. Worked out the details yet? When???

Would it help or hurt a Vedauwoo gig attendance?
Prolly 50/50: some, who need to travel a ways, might like to link the two bashes, while others need to budget their road trips and would prefer some spread between the events.

Right now, June or August: no diff for me, so let's let the idea roll around some more.

We can bump this thread every now and then -people will be more interested to commit & plan in the 2-3 months prior.

Roy, how's 3/23-3/31 look for you ?

While the idea of having it near the Boogaloo 2 time sounds good, the two venues are 10+ hours away--not exactly good for the plane crowd. On the other hand, drivers from "down under" (UT and South) could link the two. Your thoughts ?

March Mojede?
Sounds cold, even though there is an MT banana belt.

I'm more flexible later in the year, as I need to appropriately space additions to my calendar (got a couple winter/spring trips in the hopper already).

Sounding more like June, so ya'll have the option of hitting the Humbug Spires--and the two small lakes (w/camping) will be thawed for convenience.

We don't want any fair-weather folk to bring their puffy clothes and shiver, ya know ?

A pasty and evening at the Metals Bank to top all of that off. It's so good to see motivated peeps taking advantage of the ridiculous amounts of stone around Butt.

Did the town go off with the passing of Mr. Knievil?

A lot of stuff on Evel in the Standard, with a full section coming out on Sunday.

His memorial service is set for Monday at the Civic Center--I guess that they are anticipating a bunch of people showing up.

The Metals Bank is now a new sports bar, but our pasties still rule along with the "wop chops" at the Freeway (Muzz is pretty saddened by Evel's departure).

A sports bra. Aaa, Bar. That's to bad. Lived a few blocks away and lost track of a lot of time there. Please tell me the Vu is still the Vu. Would be heart broken...I have bumped into folks with Vu hats in 2 other parts of the country.

I suspect non-stop wake for the rest of the month is in order.

Big, The Vu is most certainly still the bar as you know it, only now they are a WiFi Hotspot.

The times, they are a changin'.

Fortunately, SOME things remain the same.
Backing down for another day.

Spoke to the better looking half last night. She seemed very open to a June trip north. Bouldering followed by rest days flogging the local waters sounded like a good way to spend a week.

Would be sooooo pumped to see some of the new discoveries in the batholith.

June sounds good to me! Although...August is good too because it's so humid here at that time...

I don't care though. I want to go and will do my best to be there whenever it's planned.
