I think this was the first day so we were probably just at the notch before the crux pitch.
Jeremy, I feel the same way about the Fishers.
I haven't fell for a place like that since I first saw Yosemite.

Jeremy,
I don't know if I squealed when the bat hit me, it was more of a man growl. How do I post photos to the board man, Sav took some pretty good ones. Hope all is well and nice post. You need to send me the photos. Med school seems so mundane compared to beaks and freezing my ass off.

Last pitch sucks huh? yeah it does, but in the best possible way. While you are on it, the effort and dirt just goes on and on forever, steep, awkward, frustrating, with that evil roof looming overhead the whole way. And no, it does not get easy, not anywhere. But man, once you are done, and you lie down because you have a headache and your fingers are curled up into useless lumps and everything is sore from toes upwards, once you lie down and start zoning out on the summit, the euphoria creeps in. And after all that work, it creeps in and stays for weeks.
Here's a picture of that pitch; ropes blowing all over. I was so happy to be done. So was Dave, he's got the lottery-winning grin.

Thanks for the great write up Jeremy; glad you liked the climb. It seemed like we were really lucky to chance on a line that steep and long that could go without any aid bolts. Pretty rare around the Fishers. Visit Boulder anytime, I'll buy you a beer. Fun going back through my old slides, and remembering it all.

Crusher,
Thanks for posting the photos! So cool to see the FA action!
Did you guys ever look at the series of cracks to the right of Beaking? Looks like it would go but be hard to connect the cracks from the ground.
I bet you have a million desert slides hanging around. You should post them up!!!!!!!! My request is for pics from the Mysteries!
Let's see them!!!!
BTW, next time I'm up in Boulder I will take you up on the beer offer.
Take care.

I was seriously entertained to hear the story of C.T.'s ascent. It brought back a lot of cool memories about Cam. Miss that guy for sure. Good on you.
Cheers,
