Hey all. Big group hug for sure. I needed this!

Hey hey hey - I have not broken Nature's heart ever. We've been buddies since day one and are buddies now.

Hardman, you scared me there - wasn't sure what photo was going to show up. heh heh.

You know, the rocks were very comfortable. Not sure how I managed it, but found them in a good configuration and was super relaxed. What a great time that was. :)

Thanks Dropline. I've wondered where you have been hanging out. Been super busy so I've been a bit silent.

REALLY?? A climb named after me? Schweet! I promise to go out and see it. A little known secret (only one taco person knows - or at least knew) is that I've already booked my flight to J-tree for the sushifest. I'm going whether there is a sushifest or not! I look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones (eh Todd?!?!). Plus, I need to meet these adorable children of yours Todd - they have the most excellent of names.

I do love that chicken. He loves me too. Don't forget, here are a few of my other feathered friends...

Sweet Stalker (rip) ->

Baby Gabbie -ahhhhhh! ->

And so many more (I'll show some restraint).

Hey, on another note, I'm leaving for YOSEMITE in the morning. I am sooooooo psyched!

So WhimperGirl has been climbing here the past few days and I really don't understand what all the "Appreciation" is about.

Sure, she's smart, easy-going, attractive, strong and wise, but who isn't? Big deal.

First of all, she's lazy, Here a typical image of her slacking after a mild session of blood pumping cracks and face at the base of El cap.

Who would want to put up with a chick like that?

Next, she's shameless. Here's a shot of her on Central Pillar. When I led the pitch, she friggin short roped me for a brief moment. I let her have it! Next thing you know she's following the pitch smiling like she didn't do anything wrong.
shameless
That really gets my goat.

To add insult to injury, she a pansy quitter! Just moments before she stuck this traverse on Serenity Crack, she had asked me to take! I said no friggin way Betty, get cranken. So she did! She thinks that showed me!

Some might think the fact she sent the 10d crux on the next pitch clean made up for that, particulary after she recovered from her foot sliipping. I call those people weak minded!

The fact that she hasn't slept with all the men on Supertopo is clear proof that she's A MAN HATER! I think my "sensitive new-age guy" routine kept her from going off on me this week but now that she's flying home I can finally express my true man feelings!

She's not even that smart. We were chilling at the river and she couldn't even tell which variety of bird-eatin' hawk flew by at high speed because, supposedly, the male of one kind is the same size as the female of the related variety. Well Crimpie, was it a Coopers or not??!!!

I'm cool an all, ready to bury the axe I'm grinding and even appreciate her a bit. I just had to get that off my chest. Maybe Ya'll can talk her into coming to the Facelift so she can redeem herself. Offer her some swag or freaky flyer miles or somethin'

Well of course, to most of you, the great fortune of Crimpie moving out west and to poor me, who can't call her at zero dark thirty on a Saturday morning and say, "Hey, wake up, meet us at Drapers!" and naturally, the good fortune of Brassnuts who shall be her husband.

When I first started climbing, she was a bit of legend in my little climbing world. Pretty soon, she became a pretty climbing partner who could lead stuff I had trouble following.

She and I and my wife Kim became good friends and that is a great pleasure. The fantastic times we've had in RMNP, Yos, T-Wall, etc. remain as some of my best memories. And I'll not rest on my laurels to create some even better ones in the future.

Most all that has been posted is true. Crimpergirl has a kind heart, a quick wit, good looks and most of all, true class. I am proud to call her my friend. (and damn lucky me, Dave as well)

May blessings be with you forever.

I hope to go next year. We were bummed not to make it this year. A colleague attempted to end their life and I had to cover their class which meant I couldn't get away to Yosemite to help and visit. I didn't even manage to get to the IC get-together either. Boo hoo. I missed seeing everyone - next year - I promise....next year!

Hey DMT, call you schmaltzy!

While the Crimpergirl has obvious charms, the incident I will remember here is driving around St. Louis have a discussion of how to explain certain statistical methods in an article she was writing...

... it is perhaps under-appreciated on the Taco that the Cg is well represented on Google Scholar and has been the author and co-author on a lot of very interesting papers...

... maybe it's the academic in me but I look forward to many more TRs and many more discussions.

Here's to you Crimpie!

Callie knows her statistics. She cooked up all that obscure data from from Sterling drop tests and it changed anchor strategy forever (along with some math modeling from Rich Goldstone and engineering mojo from Craig Connally).
I just like to look at her and Brass Nuts' vacation pics and wonder why I'm here working.

Callie, I appreciate your being so equitable and gracious commenting in ST front burner discussions …especially those topics associated with your scope of expertise.

Reckoning a few facts while taking the polarization down a few pegs helps us focus on the bigger picture. Some of us, I’m afraid, are looking for conflict and not answers. Though converse threads often deteriorate into name calling and putdowns…you rarely employ vilification vogue or the stereotyping of other posters.

…a pleasant talent for encouraging civil dialogue without watering down issues.

Ah, thanks. And I really mean that. I'm happy that some are interested in hearing the information that I'm (oddly) so passionate about. (Seriously, who grows up saying "I want to be an expert on violence and data and measurement! It's so cool!!!!). :)

It's been really busy, so a nice surprise to get some love. Thanks Jennie.

And thanks ZBrown too. We need to cross real paths soon. Thanks Fritz. Pente looks forward to seeing you, Heidi and Butterscotch again this year.

And we need to get back to the FL. Maybe it will be this fall?? I have two book contracts that end (in theory anyway) in August 2013, so once turned in,I plan on immediately flopping down on a beach, in the woods, on a wall, in a chair, anywhere, for months after that. I think some of it should be back at the facelift!!!
