So a friend of mine is getting married and he asked me for some ideas on the vows. Me? I have a cat and a fish. That's about as far from commitment as one can get. I even had to check to see if I spelled commitment correctly! I didn't, only one "T". I did find this though;

Tell it like it is!
Any of you married types or witnesses care to share any of your "amazing" vows?

Her: Love, honor and cherish.

Me: Obey, obey and obey.

And that's the way it's been. 16 years now...

hey there... say, if they love nature and are the romantic type and like insight to sparkle in faucets from diamonds and all that kind of jazz... there is some great words in a randy travis song: "my love is deeper than the holler":

HERE IT IS:

by (Paul Overstreet/Don Schlitz)(?)

Well I've heard those city singers singin 'bout how they can love
Deeper than the oceans higher than the stars above
Well I come from the country and I know I ain't seen it all
But I heard that oceans salty and the stars they sometimes fall
But that would not do justice to the way I feel for you
So I have to sing this song about all the things I knew

My love is deeper that the holler, stronger than the rivers
Higher than the pine trees growin' tall upon the hill
My love is purer than the snowflakes that fall in late December
And honest as a robin on a springtime window sill
And longer than the song of the Whippoorwill

From the backroads to the broadway shows with a million miles between
There's a least a million love songs that people love to sing
And everyone is different and everyone's the same
So this is just another way of sayin' the same thing

My love is deeper that the holler, stronger than the rivers
Higher than the pine trees growin' tall upon the hill
My love is purer than the snowflakes that fall in late December
And honest as a robin on a springtime window sill
And longer than the song of the Whippoorwill

My love is deeper that the holler, stronger than the rivers
Higher than the pine trees growin' tall upon the hill
My love is purer than the snowflakes that fall in late December
And honest as a robin on a springtime window sill
And longer than the song of the Whippoorwill

OTHERWISE, TRY THIS:

take my hand, and walk with me...
as i by your side, do be...

its true that anyone can say "i do"...
but proving it, takes this first step, from me to you...

yes, take my hand and walk with me...
lets travel on, to what may be...

this is the only way we'll see...
what is beyond, and yet, to be...

a union of us both, through life's trials or trails, you see...
our steadfast walk, towards joy, for all eternity...

We wrote our own. Nothing poem like, just what we were vowing to do. Kept it simple and short.

>Why do brides always smile at weddings?

Because the bride is the only person who hasn't had to dip in her pocket? Even the guests have typically had to drop a couple of hundred bucks on a present and hotel room.
