Jeff,

I don't know if you ever read my post in the Accidents/Injuries forum on rockclimbing.com but I wrote a short story about getting stuck on M.S. one day in '85 or '86 before the GWBC. I allowed the editor on rc.com to do what he does best, "editting" and he posted it as an article as well...http://www.rockclimbing.com/Articles/Safety_Health_and_Injuries/Beware_of_Mother_Superior__242.html.

The success at the contest was "closure" for me on that thing!

Wow bvb,

I'm impressed.

Those are some detailed awesome rock scetches and notes along with diary. The only time I ever did anything like that was for "Syncronicity" at Santee. I detailed notes on all the moves, but I never finished the climb. Got somewhat close but, never pulled it off. Belayed Eric Knuth on it lots so I got all the beta. He got to the point that he was doing laps on it. Good genetics those Knuth brothers have.

You were ahead of your time with the copious note taking, sketches and diary. Truly, truly impressive.

Speaking of Synchronicity at Santee...I met a guy who claimed he got the first ascent of it during a conversation with him one day. I don't remember what his name was (are you noticing a trend here?) but he said he was a "high-rigger" for Bon Jovi. Ring any bells?

That! my friend is a misspent youth journal.

whiling away time in a class that bores you to tears, pining for memories and scheming on how to get back there.
