to make a long story short, i hate delta. they have delayed my flight some time, and as a result, i am stuck in SLC til sunday with my 55 year old pops. we got a rental car, and are looking for somthing to do tomorrow. google maps puts moab, my logical destination at 4 hours. I am under 25, so pops wont let me drive the car, and he isn't in the market to do it there/back.
we are looking for somthing to do outside, 2.5 hrs or under from SLC. any suggestions? he can do a little dayhike, and we have our ski clothes, so we are reasonably well equipped.

dude...
snowbird, alta are both an hour from downtown
some of the best skiing in the *world*
little cottonwood has @2000 boulder problems and 5k trad lines
(i'm guessing at #s but you get the point...)
big has about 4 zillion sport routes
there are trails all over the place
what do you *want* to do ? you don't need to do windshield time at all if you don't wanna...

edit - little cottonwood canyon and big cottonwood canyon are two of 7 (more?) the canyons that line the east side of the valley. all of them have stuff going on...
