sidenote [that a few fellow nerds might find interesting] on how i lucked out in finding the image...
first i tried good ole tineye: not a single match.
then tried smallseotools.com’s reverse image search which just batch searched similar images using google, bing and yandex.
neither google nor bing found it, but the russian search engine yandex found it on what i’m guessing is a turkish photo seller’s website...
thought it was an interesting little demonstration of how localized the “world wide” web can be... and how limited/fallible even our seemingly all knowing google overlord’s can sometimes be...
anyhoo...
which also leads me to: i’m curious ecdh, what country was the exchange in and/or from? because just based on the color composition of your original photo i thought maybe there were some patagonian styled massifs in japan [or some other east asian country], that i’d never heard of...

the exchange was in australia, heading to japan, where there are granite spires and faces to 3000m - tho i thought it was perhaps somewhere in the karakorum or sichuan, reminds me a lot of
now i delve into it its the iconic face of fitzroy - i just dont know sh#t about the region to my embarrassment.
now i want to go there.
