Wanted to avoid thread drift in Zay's excellent TR...so here ya go, eKat: I'm tellin' all!

Met in Big Sur and got married there. That was 4.5 years ago.

Yep...we do and we did!

He wasn't a climber when we met, but like any good rock-addict, I turned him in to one. :-)

We just finished remodeling our dream home in Carmel-By-The-Sea and this is where we'll be from here on out....just watching the sun set over the Pacific and sippin' California wine....

Cheers!

eKat is on sabbatical in the southwest and having a great time. Not sure if the blinny posting up is eKat or the real blinny. My guess it is eKat.

Apologies to eKat for the thread drift, but, my god Laura... California wine?

I don't know anything about Carmel-by-the-Sea, but surely there is a wine seller within a reasonable drive from whom you could buy something decent.

I don't think she is worried about the price of wine.

There are many wine cellars and sellers nearby.

There is a bear (black) there in Lodi at the tasting room who opens your wine with a corkscrew. Then he decants and offers it to the host.

He parks his BMW right outside the door so he can keep an eye on it.

Some bad-ass badger trouble, I think.

Anyway, congrats on the hook-up, L. Yes, indeed. And he's a lucky guy.

Lynne ~ So very totally awesome! Have you baked him the "cake" yet?

Lol! Thank you so much, Lynnie…and no, I haven’t baked him the Trainwreck Jello Cake yet. I wanted the honeymoon to last for a couple more years at least!

Neebee ~ Thank you for the kind wishes!

Ghost ~ Apologies to eKat for the thread drift, but, my god Laura... California wine?

David, I had no idea you were such a SNOB! :-)

California wines are where it’s at, my friend. They pair perfectly with mountains, beaches, rolling golden hills and ancient redwood forests. Every sip of a California wine reminds me of the Sierras…infinitely wild, beautiful, full of spirit and mystery. Of course, they only reveal their perfection to those of us who love California…...what can I say?

I couldn't have said it better myself! Such a perfect place for a tree-hugging rock-climbing dolphin-lover, eh? And you're just up the road!

Mouse ~ Thank you! You're a very sweet man yourself.

Jim ~ Your comment made me smile. And I'm still smiling. Thank you!

L, I might be around the corner. I am starting to build two houses on San Carlos by 1st. We are waiting out this latest series of storms to get equipment in for the site work.

Lovers Point was our outdoor climbing gym as kids. Garrapata State beach and Granite Creek were both places we loved to boulder and explore. I have been privileged to live, play, ditch school and work in such a beautiful place as the Monterey Bay area!

Right! Where else can you get a big, complex, chaparral influenced red, with the subtle delight of dry deer mouse dingle berry fruitiness and hints of poison oak? Rock on California wines!
