As the California Supreme Court powerfully stated in _People v. Morse_, the jury "looks at the individual as a whole being and decides
if he is fit to live," 60 Cal.2d 631, 637. In making this awesome
decision, the jury is guided by the instructions of the trial judge,
which define a reasoned process for approaching what remains a
profoundly moral decision about the value of a human life.

If, upon weighing the applicable aggravating and
mitigating factors, you conclude that the
appropriate penalty is life imprisonment without
the possibility of parole, then it would be a
violation of your duty as jurors to return a
verdict of death out of fear or concern that the
Department of Corrections or its Director may fail
in their responsibilities under law to provide the
defendant with psychotherapy or other care which
may be needed to achieve rehabilitation or prevent
future acts of violence."

Consider the source! That's for sure Ron. Funny you should mention the other guy. The last route I did this past fall is one of his. Absolutely classic 5 inch offwidth to a scary face protected by two bolts he drilled something like 40 years ago. His Platte routes are all genius.

Well mine aren't, and there's only one of them.

But doesn't 5" make it a fist crack?

I seem to remember Kenny pulling a block off on himself.

I remember hearing this story and a bunch of others about Kenny in the late '80s in Boulder. Didn't the Shield in Eldo get renamed "Psycho Killer" after he pulled the block off?

Spencer - yep - another one for San Diego

and Huberty (San Ysidro)

Harris was another San Diego guy.

Harris was twenty five years old when he shot two San Diego teenagers to death. Prosecutors told the jury that Harris taunted the victims before they died, laughed at them after he pulled the trigger, then calmly ate the hamburgers they had bought for lunch

His last words before dying in the gas chamber:

"You can be a king or a street sweeper, but everyone dances with the grim reaper." (from Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure no less). Doesn't appear to by a lyric in anyone's song.

Robert Harris had a violent and unhappy childhood that started in the womb. He was born three months premature after his mother was brutally assaulted by his father who kicked her in the stomach. Both parents inflicted frequent beatings on young Robert who suffered a broken jaw at the age of two after a punch form his father. For sport, his father would load a gun and tell the children they had 30 minutes to hide outside the house, after which he would shoot them down like animals.

If it's the same guy, I remember Luke "Skywalker".
Weird guy with far away eyes.
Not at all surprised if he turned out to be a Granny murderer.

You guys are scaring me silly! I figure most folks are selfish and that's the reason they do bad stuff. Most are not truly evil, just extremely short sighted. This guy, now that's evil.

May I and the folks I love, heck even the folks I dislike... May they never have the experience of dealing with someone who is truly Evil.

Yikes! Dick Cilley SWEARS he saw Luke in JT a couple of years ago. I'll refrain from posting until there is certain proof he is behind bars, still. Scary stuff with him on the loose.

Trust us, they're out there. The number of sociopaths on the loose is pretty scary, and you have to trust your instincts.

I worked with another ER nurse who went on to medical school. Everyone liked him, but I always thought he was really creepy and scary - never trusted him. Five years later he was sentenced to 25-30. He was working as an intern, went on the Ob/Gyn floor, injected Valium into a young woman's IV line and then raped her.

And Google Michael Swango (the psycho MD) if you want to see how easy it is for these types to blend in and do harm.

There has to be a Luke Stong mug shot published or available someplace in a newspaper or elsewhere? Anybody?

I notice in the Colorado obituary that Luke's mother died of Alzheimer's at the ripe old age of 61. And his father died of the Big C at 65. That sounds like there are some errors in his genetic code, doesn't it? What's that 1930s movie called, "Bad Seed"? Sure doesn't come from a robust blood line in any case.

Luke wandering around Josh right now? Yikes!

Yer scared, but are you scared ENOUGH?

Some studies have found 1% of the world's humans are sociopaths.
Many just don't "act out".
