Serves me right for searching 'fog versus cloud':

Fog Computing, or “fogging”, is a distributed infrastructure in which certain application processes or services are managed at the edge of the network by a smart device, but others are still managed in the cloud. ..

Hope to return with fog, or cloud; pretty much the same to me.

Not my photo, but seems to fit here

Could say I haven't the foggiest but equal time rule would wear my fingers out typing the ST LIST

I'll call this 'tiny water droplets suspended in the air at or near the earth's surface that obscure or restrict visibility to a greater extent than mist (strictly, reducing visibility to below 1 km)'.

Oh, darn, I can see the sun. Maybe it is mist.

I did appreciate that "clouds on the ground" comment, DMT.

I like the fog photos, too.

Our radio people in Vancouver often advise drivers to be on the lookout for patches of heavy fog. I have yet to hear them warn us about driving into clouds.

From this morning's MTB ride.

If you want to check out some awesome pictures in fog, check out Lyle Gomes. Especially his Presidio prints. If possible find some real prints. One of the best B&W printers around. The interweb doesn't do them justice.

Blue Mountains rising above Columbia Basin inversion fog. The basin is supposed to fill up with fog tomorrow and remain fogged in for the foreseeable future, at least 7 days. Nice to have the mountains nearby to escape the gloom.

Kite, kite string, and camera were all soaked from condensation when I brought everything down. The camera appears to still be working fine. I'm liking that little Ricoh GR II better every day. Anything that can ride with me and survive is quality stuff.

The handles on the window frames are for use when the light keeper was cleaning the glass on windy days, giving him something to hold onto, presumably while standing on the railing.

Sunrise hiking into Echo Cliffs, Malibu. 15 minutes earlier I was in the fog bank- the sun burns it off rapidly.
Pretty neat to watch it receding down the canyon- its like water rolling backwards..

^^^ reminds me of Pianura Padana in Italy, the flood plains in the north at the foot of the Alps. Just add a smokestack every once in a while for a factory.
