Looks very good...I saw a lecture of his back in the early 90s, it was well worth it.
Guido, what website did you grab that from? I wouldn't mind getting an autographed copy.

Forget but you can try his website:

He spends a great deal of his time in Nepal nowadays.

I saw his show in the 70's. It was about the Ogre and his route on Denali with Haston.
A tent manufacturer gave Doug a prototype "best mountain tent in the world" for Denali basecamp.
When Doug and Dougal came back down all that was left of the tent was a corner square anchored to the snow/ice. Doug took a picture and sent a nasty letter to the company.

^^^^ That’s why smart people build igloos at base camp on Denali. ;-)
It looks a good read. How many ‘Ogre’ mountains are out there anyway?

That'll be a great read I'm sure. Doug is a class act all the way.
Years ago Doug came to Jackson, Wy. to do a slide show. I was supposed to go climbing with him for the day but it was pissing rain. We went to the indoor gym instead. Doug was climbing some route and using every hold he could reach. Some kid ,who had no idea who he was ,told him he was only supposed to use the yellow taped holds. Doug looked down at him and said "If you don't use the holds you'll never get up anything". We went and had a beer afterwards and laughed about "kids".

Just a few years ago, my wife and I were visiting John Porter, who is an old friend of mine. John is a good friend of Doug Scott, and Chris Bonnington, and they all live close to each other in the town of Calbech, in the Lake District.
I was chatting with Doug and mentioned to him that I still solo occasionally.
Doug looked over at my wife and said rather sternly, " you better tell him to stop doing that"! I thought that was funny.
