Marcus, late 80's on a Skin Tight 12c. Desperation written across his face as he tries to clip with hands crossed up. Perfect edging technique, perfect climbing physique. Note the old hand drilled button heads!
Just found it in an old box and thought i'd share.

A leading candidate from my experiences, not because of amazing photo artistry, but because it captures the least secure spot (for me) on Royal Arches:

So many ways to slice this though... pics that ultimately capture certain times or feelings or moods, pics of desperation, pics of awesome position... I look forward to seeing good stuff here. I probably won't limit myself to one.

Really like jefe's so far (and I don't even like bouldering much). It has a magical look to it.

Runner-up is "justTheMaid" because of the classic glacial U-shaped valley shown in the background and the interesting crazy-looking rock type, not to mention the seriousness of a 25 pitch .11x route.

This is Conner soloing Hailstone Arete (5.9) on Mt. St. Helena the other day, north of the Bay Area. The clouds parted mid-climb, it was amazing.

This is Conner soloing Oberman's Roof (11.b/c) on top of Mt. Tamalpais in the Bay Area. When his feet cut I almost pooped my pants... but the guy is a showman.

Great & grand photos folks. Thanks for taking the time to share them.

Somehow, I've missed posting on this thread, but it is tough to decide just what kind of climbing photo is the best I've ever taken?

Is it a slogging up to the route, that is likely going to be out of condition, photo?

Is it a closeup historic photo of a friend on a classic route?

Is it a classic summit shot?

Or a photo of someone having a bad morning, high on a peak in Alaska?

Dammed if I know.
