Maruia Falls

I had a pretty crappy line off the top since I almost went off the wrong slot. No speed so I penciled in instead of a nice boof stroke.

Hi Jody, another view of South Creek Falls, on a small tributary of the Kern, just east and downstream from Johnsondale, and just west and upstream from the Johnsondale Bridge Mountain Highway 99 which travels along the Kern north of Lake Isabella.

If you go to the Needles via lake isabella you see it on your left.

Edit: Dan have you checked Death Valley for white water after storms this year??
I recall friends going out there one year to paddle Death Valley, pretty cool.

This would have briefly been a waterfall on Panorama Wall when the temps warmed up. Another time in this same area, my buddy and I were moving tree to tree one at a time, avalanches going on around us, trying to get out the morning after a big dumping when we headed up into the storm.

The two highest waterfalls in the state of West Virginia are both underground in caves - I took the 12-hour caving trip to see the highest waterfall (Monster Falls, 110 feet) back in the year 2000.

Here are some other waterfalls from around the USA:

Here's another view of Palouse Falls, in Washington state. An amazing thing here is that originally, this falls was vastly larger - the water was several hundred feet deep at the rim, and it scoured out the deep gorge.

The tremendous flow was the result of Glacial Lake Missoula. Between about 18,000 and 13,000 years ago, glaciers dammed the Clark Fork River and a huge lake (3000 sq miles) formed behind it. Eventually the water eroded the dam and destroyed it, unleashing a flood of around 500 cubic miles of water over a period of days. This appears to have happened more than 40 times.

The peak flow of these floods was around 10 times the combined flow of all rivers in the world.

Located within Noccalula Falls Park at the west end of Lookout Mountain near Gadsden in Etowah County, alabama. Noccalula Falls is a 90-foot waterfall that has become one of the most frequently visited natural landmarks in the state. Steeped in history and surrounded by Cherokee legends, the falls are marked with a bronze statue of a Cherokee maiden who plunged into the cascading waters to her death in protest of her father’s orders to marry a man she was not in love with
