Hello,
Will be over in CA in march and looking for some climbing buddies. Will be in Joshua Tree for a couple days, March 4-5, and then staying less than a mile away from Stoney Point, LA from 11-19th March. I prefer trad but know that there is mostly sport and bouldering. Happy to climb whatever, just want to climb...

Maybe he now has control of his attitude. That's a good thing.

When someone emails you and talks sh#t it's a little more personal.
I refrain from name calling on this forum or saying things I would not say in person.

Back to the OP...
Sam E is a hard climber and safe partner and knows Stoney (and Jtree) very well.
You can find partners on bulletin boards at Nomad Ventures in the town of Joshua Tree or better yet on the bulletin boards of Hidden Valley Campground 13 miles inside the park from the West Entrance.

Perfect example why I rarely frequent this site anymore. Any thread or inquiry can and will quickly devolve into personal attacks or other nonsense.
For what it is worth, Levy is a super competent and experienced climber and a good guy to boot.
And, while handing out endorsements, Todd Gordon is the one of the best human beings on the planet, and knows Joshua Tree better than anyone. You'll have a blast climbing with Todd, and anyone would be honored to call him a friend.

Boy drama? Pfft. My very first JT trip had us pull in to the lot and as we were necking around looking at the various lines and climbing potential in wonder and excitement, right there witnessed some jackass draw a gun on another jackass @30 feet away and then they started yelling at each other. I've drawn down on dudes before, and they always do what ya tell them, but what I found both fascinating and unnerving is that the unarmed fella was screaming at the top of his voice: "GO AHEAD AND SHOOT YA PUSSY", then he'd take a step forward, the guy with the gun would back up and yell, GET BACK MOTHERF*#KR OR I'LL SHOOT YA or some such and the other shithead would then scream "GO AHEAD AND SHOOT YA PUSSY" again. It was on repeat cycle. From my perspective, I was surprised the the as#@&%e with the gun didn't pull the trigger. I was also considering the point of aim and hoping it didn't change as it was away from us. I didn't get any names although it's possible that one or both of them are currently posting on this thread.
So, my point is this: have fun!

Lizzie welcome to Supertopo! Its like being the new kid at school for a while. We got all kinds. Cool kids, wierdos, bullies, teachers, students, stoners, sportos, drama queens, Young Republicans, Old bitter Democrats, posers, legends and everything in between. I'd say 80% of the posters here are normal folks and the other 20% are downright certifiable.
I hope you find a good partner! I personally have climbed with over a dozen Supertopoans and have met some fantastic friends. Enjoy the Trip Reports, avoid the political threads (its pretty much the same ten dudes bickering back and forth all day) and share the stoke when you report back after an adventure.
