Nothing is sacred anymore. Not when there is a profit to be made. Disgraceful to say the least.

You fukin so-called "conservatives " are truly the party of evil. Like orcs crawling over isengard. That orange skinned con man might as well have a burning eye as his symbol,or a flaming comb over. For shame America, for shame.

Most all of our current public lands, except for National Parks & military lands, were available for homesteading up until the early 1900's, when the U.S. Forest Service "set-aside" lands from homesteading.

What are now BLM lands were available for homesteading much later. My wife's family homesteaded 120 acres of BLM land in 1950, after a Bureau of Reclamation dam delivered irrigation water to that area.

My point is: any lands in the American west that are not currently in private ownership, were not worth homesteading or mining by the standards of early 20th century America.

OUR much-loved public lands were the schist-lands not worth development.

NOW they are worth stealing from US, the American people by

THOSE BASTARDS!

They want our shitty & scenic lands, that previously were considered worthless, and we suddenly need to fight to keep them.

I am fond of my access to those lands.

WOOOOHOOO!

Big congrats to all that contacted their representatives, wrote letters to editors, or otherwise publicly opposed the bill to sell off 3.3 million acres of OUR public lands.

Thank you!

Big party tonight!

But the war to steal OUR public lands from US is not over!

(It would be great if a few more people on ST got active?)

These people have not gone away.

http://www.oregonlive.com/oregon-standoff/2017/01/judge_to_allow_ammon_bundy_rya.html

The soft spoken white cowboy victim routine worked last time....
Ammon Bundy carried a worn Bible to the witness stand Tuesday and portrayed himself as a weak underdog pitted against a powerful federal government that has tried to crush his family.

Asked where he lived, Bundy said, "At the Multnomah County jail ... just across the street. I've been there eight and a half months.''

Bundy became emotional on the stand several times, his voice quivering as he described how "useless'' it seems fighting against federal authorities who have put his father, his brothers and him behind bars.

Yes, we must stay vigilent.

It's seeming to have some effect to put pressure, directly, on the one's when they put up these repugnant bills, as also happened with that "get rid of the ethics oversight" one, but eventually even this may not be effective, as they feel emboldened by their brethern gaining "wins" in other states. It will become a pissing match, to stand up against their own constituents, ESPECIALLY if they are "taken care of" by being given cabinet positions and such if they end up losing their positions in the vote.

Remember that BITD they also began stealing the land put aside for the First Peoples, once they found there was value in those lands that they hadn't realized.

And To those of you students who participated: I pray that you are caught and disappear from academia for all time. I was once your professor. And I say unto you: Your legacy is a stain on our precious sacred space. Go to the streets of North Sac and see what you have created.

My Oath is to The State of California and The United States of America and I will defend her from all enemies, foriegn and domestic. You have choosen to join the enemies of democracy and the enemies of our State and our Union. Whom do you serve? Isis? Black Lives Matter? Nancy Pelosi? Diane Feinstein? Yeah Im angry. I have lived long enough to know how good the world was before you. Without you. And I have lived long enough to know that you will defeat yourself with every fire you start. Keep on burning Universities that all may know you. "You shall know them by the fruits they bear." You are a tree of thorns that bears no fruit.

I watched the liberals at UCDavis give strategic technology to Sadaam Hussein which he used to create enough Sarin gas and enough botulism toxin and Anthrax to kill everone on the planet ten times over. Liberals defended the Post Docs from Pakistan, North Korea and Iraq while they stole hundreds of millions of dollars in strategic materials from our universities. I know. My research was funded by NIH and DOD and I know where it went and what they mean to do with that power. They mean to unleash a plague and you are helping them.

Oh, I see: because I like keeping federal land free and federal I am complicit in espyooonage and development of WMD......which never really materialized. Got it.

FWIW: this ain't a partisan, B/W issue.
Perhaps this is not the right thread?
