Hey America, how’s it going? How was your weekend? What’d you get up to?

Me? Oh, not much. Saturday I got together with a few friends (5000) in front of the State Library to have a bit of a discussion about your new Commander in Chief, and what he represents, and to make it clear to our politicians that emulating his views will be met with massive resistance. There were a few hundred Americans there, which was nice. Some great banners – I liked the quiet understatement contained in the ones ‘I Am Very Concerned!’ and ‘This Is Very Bad’. And ‘Make America Think Again’, that was a good one. ‘Hands Too Small, Can’t Build Wall!’ got a laugh. And, this demonstration being part of the international Woman’s March movement, one that read ‘I Got 99 Problems And Rape Culture Is One Of Them’. [In case the link isn’t clear, rape culture as propagated by your President Donald ‘Grab ‘em by the p*ssie’ Trump.]

After a few speeches, we went for a bit of a walk through the city. 5000 people marching and chanting in a rousing call-and-response. Do you know the one? It goes “When [important issue] is under attack, what do we do?”. And the crowd response is ‘Stand Up Fight Back!’. And geez, there was an inexhaustible list to run through, too. When humans rights are under attack; when immigrant rights are under attack; when healthcare rights are under attack; when education rights are under attack; when women’s rights are under attack; when journalist’s rights are under attack; well, you get the idea. I would’ve added a few of my one – when judicial discretion in under attack; when the independence of the intelligence agencies are under attack; when sensible incremental taxation systems are under attack; when government agencies necessary for the appropriate regulation of industry, such as the EPA, are under attack… but I didn’t have a megaphone, and they don’t really roll off the tongue, do they?

Anywho, below are a couple of pics. Any of you gonna be in Melbourne on Feb 10? I hear there’s another similar event planned in response to our local versions of Trump, Senators Pauline Hanson and Cory Bernardi, who want to give air to their fascist views in a public rant. Come along. It’ll be a riot. (Not literally) (Well, possibly literally)

Yikes! Give it a rest!

Nobody on the taco stand complained as long or loudly about the Obumbalator in Chief as you libs are sniveling about His Hairness.

The sky is falling! The sky is falling!

So, now we need yet ANOTHER front-page thread about it?

Really?

You can't find even ONE of the other whiner threads to post on? God knows you'll already find PLENTY of company in any of the ALREADY-EXISTING liberal echo chambers.

As for my own inauguration moments, I was in Quartzsite, AZ on the 20th, and walked into the Pilot truck stop to use the bathroom, and was surprised to see the little eating area filled to standing room and everyone with eyes glued to the tv.

I feared something bad had happened, and for a fleeting second had a body memory of the horrible events on 9.11.2001. Then I heard the voice of Trump giving his speech and remembered what day it was.

I was in a room full of Trumpeters, and just got the hell out asap.

Later, I was online on Facebook, and Dan Rather made a post about how "different" this inauguration has been, compared to the many many others he has viewed through the critical lens of a news man.

I made a comment about my experience above, and wrote that, being in a truck stop, I wanted to burst out in song to the tune of "Convoy," - We got us a con man...."

The comment got like 500 likes, over then next day, and sparked a troll who just showed himself a big buffoon.

I also saw a post on FB about Melania's baby blue outfit, and I commented there, that she had chosen well and looked great. And that if I am ever prodded to say anything "nice or not at all" about DT, there's at least that.

As far as president-related stuff, that was about it.

Nah, all the politard threads here are liberal echo chambers. Non-libs are few and far between on the Taco Stand.

The other half of the nation is tired of your whining, riots, "not my president" demonstrations, burning down your own neighborhoods and expecting the taxpayers to pay for the restoration, etc., etc., etc., ad naseum.

But, actually, I take it all back. Just keep it up. Your attitude is what lost you this last election, and your attitude is so utterly ridiculous after this one that you are swaying middle-ground people away from your side.

Keep it up.

Skied fresh pow at Taos so my weekend was great. Ms. Trump looked nice. My money is on Mr. Trump's impeachment within two years based scandal and incompetence.

'Bout 400 rounds downrange on Saturday in preparation for a new 1000 yard place opening up. Then some very muddy MTB'ing. Climbing today.

Shoulder is very sore. So sore in fact, I'm going to have to switch hands for a bit.

Entertained at night by the throngs fretting over the new puppet. Orange is in fact, the new black.

The consternation over who/how many showed up is interesting. Who really cares? It reminds me of all the election "polls" where people seek validation for their own insecure beliefs.

So Donald will need to hopefully address his insecurities and realize his new job is somewhat different then his old job, although not by much.

Thats quite the Selective memory that you have.

Remember Obama's Birth Certificate? Of course you do. Plenty of people on this forum complained about that for most of Obama's presidency. Cragman, Pyro, Cosmic, and others. Heck even congress got into it, and our Dear President Trump mentioned it again during this election.

Trained in the rain. Pull-ups, bachar ladders, trail runs and outdoor plastic pulling. As I missed the local unity march on Saturday through miscommunication, I went for a solitary march by the river; lots to think about.

Jensen, you disappoint.

I've read hours of your posts defending your aid lines and impugning the tactics of others. Your arguments were well-reasoned and showed an appreciation for the scientific method. They were a pleasure to read.

So you can't countenance another anti-Trump thread. Okay. But why forego a rational argument for an intellectually embarrassing tirade? Show some self-respect, man.

Will - I appreciate your attempt to wind us up. Trump is certainly an embarrassment, but I don't really understand what you get out of twisting the knife. I've been to Australia, its a pretty nice place, but not without its own problems. You've go an economy that is not especially innovative, that depends heavily on exporting raw materials to China, devastation among aboriginal populations and environmental degradation. Perhaps you should direct your outrage closer to home.

Hey Chill. Well that’s an interesting position you have. Actually, I’ve found it’s quite common amongst Americans. Let’s call it the ‘let he who is without sin cast the first stone’ attitude to global politics and social justice. The country I live in isn’t perfect, therefore I have no right to criticise yours. I just don’t know about that one buddy, not when America plays such an exaggerated role in world affairs, and when the policies and positions taken by your government have such far-reaching influence and consequences.

I’m not much a fan of Michael Moore generally (I find him to lack objectivity and be a bit snarky), but check out his film ‘Where To Invade Next’. It takes a look at specific policies of specific countries that America could benefit from adopting. That said, I thought the ending was sh*t, because it basically said, ‘wait, we invented all these wonderful concepts, and therefore we have nothing to learn from the rest of the world’. This, again, is another common attitude amongst your compatriots. It’s arrogant, naïve, and dangerous. America can learn a lot from the rest of the world, just as other countries can learn from the mistakes and the successes of America.

It was a dark Friday & a tough weekend for Heidi & me.

We arrived in Seattle at 8:00 A.M. Friday morning after enjoying 11 days in Maui. After flight delays, we drove into Choss Creek at 5:00 P.M. Friday & dug through snow to open our front gate & get bags up our sidewalk.

Protest day was devoted to much more snow & ice removal.

On Sunday we rested, but of course we are spared driving to an indoor church.

It's great to be Pagan!

OH!

And fuk Trump & his evil minions.

Will, the nastiest urban Hellhole you can find in Australia bears no resemblance to MANY such places in the diverse densely populated urban holes you will find in the US. Come over on a holiday for a summer tour of Chicago (not the touristy "windy city"), Detroit, Gary, Camden, Newark, St. Louis, etc.

Conversely this is where most of the shootings are taking place.

Gang violence fueled by poverty and the absurd War on Drugs since our country has this need to wage war on everything and everyone.

Until we end our "war" on drugs, the violence will only get worse since the demand for drugs is historically insatiable.

Well, that's a thought. If Trump keeps sexually spiraling down he may reach rock bottom and . . . have blow job in the Oval Office! Impeachment for sure!
