Wait, Cosmic comes unhinged in his support of trump and, after the win, figures out he's getting f*#ked in the ass on healthcare costs? Sorry, he's just one of the first of millions of rubes who voted for trump who are going to get bent over a rail again and again for a serial ass-f*#king by the very people they voted for.

Pontificating indeed. Dude, keep your pants up and your belt buckle tight that ain't santa claus coming to town.

I missed all the drama. I has wished Cosmic well on that thread, suggested he take Studlys advice. I don't need to say it again, my point stands. Best to you with the back pain Dwain.

I don't agree with his politics but I do have sympathy for someone in constant pain. Not being able to do the things you love, that tough stuff.

I'm just trying to sell the gear.

I doubt you will sell it as a "lot" sale. Might be best to set yourself up in the JT parking lot outside of Hidden Valley and just part it out.

No implications as regards Cosmic here. But do people really trust used personal protective
equipment? I got rid of a lot of my stuff but smashed it flat first so no one in the recycling stream
could use it.

The problem, cosmic, is that most of us either don't have the disposable income lying around to buy it all our don't need all the gear. But since you've chosen your options here, we wish you luck and better days ahead.

I realized some time ago that gear is a pain in the ass and started selling it a little later figuring what I had would get outdated and become worth less than now. You know some original friends, some shamlocks and of course hand drills? I could get about 40% full retail at the college gear swaps. It felt good passing all those turds.

Here I am today -- 16 quickdraws, one harness, some chalk, new and old ropes, 4 pairs of c shoes, hammer, prybar, and Makita rotary drill. My only expense is bolts and hangers as I tend to loose or leave them at the cliffs.

Yes Cosmic there can be a great climbing life after trad climbing. I say sell the crap and be happy for the roof that's over you. Oh, you will need a GRIGRI and maybe some pervert looking clothes?

It seems to me, Cosmic, that you're setting yourself up for "no sale" with the All or Nothing scenario. Maybe that is your subconscious not wanting to let go, and if so, I think that's kind of nice that our selves watch out for our selves.

FWIW, I listed things for sale both here and on MT Project when I needed to sell, and had good results. True, you do have to take pictures, and the more detail, the better. And true, you do have to deal with communication.

ST, land of the best one liners I've ever heard. :) As well as some pretty darn good, solid advice.

So,

Sitting here watching the rain whip the trees; dark clouds outlining the rocky hills and thinking about life and why Cosmic started his original thread.

I have my health, but will never be the climber Cosmic is (not enough time left on the planet for that). Dwain has a bum back and knee but has a wonderful lifetime of climbing memories and friends to match those memories....and perhaps a few climbs left in you my friend.

Cosmic has a wonderful wife, I have no husband.

Having a life partner can be a blessing; aloneness can be a different kind of blessing.

I guess sometimes we wish things could be better or different, I sure have. But the trick is to make the most out of what we have. To love hugely, to enjoy to the brim the day and to share it all with others. Jess sayin'.
