Just wanted to let you know, and ask for your help spreading the word about this Kickstarter campaign for a new type of climbing training product! Link here.

The product got a very positive review in the Norwegian climbing magazine today, Norsk Klatring. Hope Google Translate has the required language skills to make it something you can interpret.

Tindeq is a small startup company, and this is the first product we launch. We neither have a huge amount of followers nor a huge marketing budget, so we need all the help we can get to spread the word. Thanks for your help, and feel free to ask questions after you've had a look.

Congrats! I see you have already hit your final goal, impressive. I think you are quite underfunded, but you know best.

Best of luck with the product!

Thanks. Lowest goal, not final goal.. Still hope to get 200% funded or more.. :-)

But you are right the funding goal doesn't look very ambitious, but that is actually the lowest amount I need to realize the project. I believe so much in the product that I thought if I was able to sell 50 pairs and get some publicity it would be worth the hassle to produce the rewards and from there let the user word of mouth gradually scale it up.

Oh man. Doesn't look good to me. First of all I cannot recommend any movable rings as exercise for climbing, having ruined my shoulders years ago on the still rings in gymnastics. The Bachar Ladder was another moving training device that did some damage. This contraption looks like a danger to various parts of the hand and arm and shoulder.

But some climbers will love it and thrive.

Thanks for your feedback!
Still rings are usually suspended from longer wires, so I think you will experience Duck Rings as more stable @jgill. Also compared to other hanging climbing training devices, the L-shape of Duck Rings always keeps at least one of the fastening points for the cord higher than where you grip, thus the pull on the cord leverages the grip into a stable position. It is a quite simple product - but still some geometry and statics calculations involved.

@reilly: Nice one! Are you demonstrating the skills and power of Google Translate, or do you have Norwegian or Danish roots?

Kickstarter is now 126% funded and it is only on the fifth day!

@Reilly; Not that bad, you are still able to communicate in Norwegian.

Metolius Rock Rings - the mother of them all.. And actually the very first version I built was more or less a wooden version of Rock Rings. Then I redesigned it to add more features and make it more stable. Decided to keep a name that show they are kind of related to both gymnastic rings and Rock Rings.

Weight wise there is a difference: Duck Rings are made of plywood and weighs only 300g compared to Rock Rings which are made of some resin at 2400grams a pair.

Calgary climber and photographer Tim Banfield has been testing out Duck Rings for a while. That resulted in this review which Gripped Climbing Magazine posted online today. Check it out here.
