Hey, reading past threads tonight and missing SO many friends that never post here anymore. (See Apology to Lynne Thread) Well, I was going to ask for a great salad recipe to go with a tri tip.....but I just can't do it. This is a climbing thread after all.

So missing friends that no longer hang here. So glad I got to know Blitzo thru this crazy place and then in the real. Peace Dude and to Coz and Fonda.

I also miss the old times in here find it harder to post anymore, but living in Colorado it's harder to show people new places. In the Black Hills there were all these nooks and crannies that people had never seen things that people were interested in. Everybody's been there done that in Colorado so regular adventures in less interesting.

Not just missing the ones that went to the heavenlies. Missing folks like Pennsylenvy, Jingy, Leavittator, half hitch, dougs 5.10 Anastasia, Nature and more that rarely, if ever, post here.

The good times rolled and then the coin lost it's momentum.

Gomez keeps it real and rockin'. Think JW and the Raker may be visiting in the New Year.

I guess what I'm missing is the hilarious fun we had here posting. Will try to dig up the Locker, Blitzo 8 ball thread. :)

Edit: and one bottle per person ain't bad.

I've noticed the attrition, and I've not been posting five years yet.

If you're friends with all these people and are on a last-name basis with Bridwell and Yerian and Ondra then why not just pick up the phone and say hi?

Love your thoughts, Mouse. I started here 9 years ago. The likes of Roger Breedlove, Roy McClenehan, Peter, Bachar, crimpergirl, brass nuts and so many more gave ST some super fun times with their great wit and sharing the history of climbing. Tonight I'm just missing the depth of the audience we once had. Even Chris Mc would chime in once in a while.

Anita, a phone call isn't a campfire.

gcf, thanks for the post.

The signal-to-noise ratio is, shall we say, different over the last several years. Less sharing of pictures and good times and general hilarity, and more argumentative posturing. Naturally ... lots of us have fled the pool ... and the party ... altogether.

The answer to that is the same as it's always been: generate worthwhile content!

Yo!
Saddle up!

Yo yo!
I'm in it for the long run!
Climbed forty years before I was directed to the taco ( by someone whose hospitality we have shared Lynnie) and that was thirteen years ago.
And today my team got first , and only, tracks at the often packed, Super Crack. Parking!

To attempt an Fa, and get in some pitches
yesterday was a different Fa project, the day before another.

History? I am history. Current events? Working on it, as are you, Lynne.
We all come and go, some of us speak more at different times, but it's happening now, we are part of the golden age, right now!

Sometimes it's hard to take time, to stop and smell the coffee...

Lynne, so nice to see you here, i am not often here, and then i overdose i suppose....

i did get the usual insults for thinking differently, so i emailed one guy a list of the stuff on his rack,or in his pack that were my designs.... of course i had no reply.

fresh green lettuce with a variety of colors of tomatoes and red onions looks great, but the blu cheese chunks, and loops i forgot the dried cranberries, with the red onion somehow really hits it with rare to medium beef

I'm with Jstan. Except perhaps for the "it's all good" part. Loss of an old friend or loved one, for example. NOT! Outside of the political threads, there are many folks like yourself that make the taco sparkle Lynne, and a lot of them posted on the thread you reference. I thank all of them for their positive contributions.

Best to all....

I think of Cosmic Charlie:

"New ones comin' as the old ones go
Everything is moving here
But much too slowly
A little bit quicker
And we might have time
To say, how do you do
Before we're left behind..." The Dead

Lynnie,

I forget we're only 2 hours away most of the winter. I need to make the campfire less virtual.

BTW...salad with tri-tip? Cut up a bunch of red potatoes, toss them in the old cast iron skillet with some finely chopped onion, and bit of garlic, some salt, pepper. Sauté in butter and olive oil until browned. Sprinkle on a bit of seasoned salt if you desire. Serve very hot and wash down with a good beer.
Friends don't let friend eat green things!

Peace,
Barbarian

The pics at the bottom of the first page are truly beautiful.

I looked at the one where the leader is just leaving the ground. At a first glance the picture looks pedestrian, not much happening. Just a guy, with a neat rack, starting a steep climb. Then I understood that it's at that moment--the instant when you unweight the ground--that everything comes into focus. All the psych, the mental training, and physical prep descends to the downbeat that marks the start of the journey.

The picture excites me, putting it all together and going, the moment of take off.

Hey ya neighbor! How are you Lynnie? I miss you!
I do have to admit that I tend to log on here to see what's up and then usually scan over the diatribe and don't want to get involved in any of it. But your post struck a chord... It's good to hear from you.
I haven't been doing any climbing lately due to a pretty bad knee injury back in July, but I'm recovering and starting to get stronger and I'm gettin the hankering to get out touch some stone here pretty soon.
I'll be off after Christmas. Maybe we can get together?

Hey Lynn I still lurk from time to time. E and I have just been super busy with work and life . Not much time for the internet these days. It is sad to think of the people we have lost .

Sorry we missed everyone at Facelift this year. Had both Pensylenvy and Jefe over recently. Seeing Luckypink next week. Always happy to see friends from ST if they are passing through Bishop if they want to shoot us a message.
