I agree with fear.
This sounds like it could be a scam to me. I'm not buying the "CO exposure caused mom/daughter to lose their home" story.
Unfortunately, Matt, you (or others) will need to come up with something more substantial for us to go on before I can put this go fund me campaign in the legit column.

The facebook pages for Pamela and her mom look completely fabricated fairly recently. Scroll back in time a bit... there's nothing that makes any sense for either of them.
Again... just trying to be sure Matt... offer up some proof.

Right, but there's zero history on the two prior to that event that appear in "normal" facebook users accounts. A few postings here and there but nothing else....
Just stinks like some relatively elaborate scam.
We'll wait for matt... :)

I don't fault anyone for wondering if it's legit.
As I said initially, I used to post under just "Matt", years ago, and way way way too often =)
I no longer use that email and I don't remember the login for ST so I had to start a new profile.
I really don't even know who posts here anymore, but I was in the Bay Area until 2013. You wanna know who I know? Well, I know the guy whose site this is...

As for the FB pages of the principals, I didn't look, I know the brother of the father, he works for a bank in NC and he performed my wedding in 2005. It's not fake.
My read of the GoFundMe page was that the guy is being prosecuted, not that he's been convicted.
Tell me what you'd consider adequate evidence that it's legit and I'll see if I can produce it.

I already donated but verifying is a great idea and should have been done upfront. The request is starting to look valid despite the doubts.

Your initial post Matt just seems odd. "Setting up huge belays". getting into bigger guidebooks?
So if this guy kicked in this supposed girls face on camera, that would be news and there would be a felony arrest and state records thereof. The Facebook page for the guy with the tats is fake. What's the guys full real name and in what town/date did it happen? Ill get the arrest records.
