Wa Post. The power of fake news:

Despite media reports, there is no evidence Clinton Foundation paid for Chelsea’s wedding

The Clinton Foundation has denied any resources at all were diverted to the wedding, but some voters were still swayed at the last minute to vote for Trump because of this allegation.

By Glenn Kessler Fact Checker

It fed into the allegation that there was no difference between the two foundations, and therefore the two candidates, and the two parties.

^^^ Gotta love the fact that the left's parody poster can't even employ proper grammar in it's "headline."

The typical "your" vs. "you're" confusion.

Sad. Not funny. Just sad.

Hey, John. You said that you are no longer doing any professional practice in intellectual property law?

PM me if you have any wiggle room to fit in a trademark filing, if you would. It's simple and straightforward, but we've just learned over the years that having an attorney steer the thing through is money well spent.

Thanks.

The 15 Warnings Signs Of Impending Tyranny

Consider yourself warned.

 01/04/2017 12:40 pm ET

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/the-15-warnings-signs-of-impending-tyranny_us_586d3170e4b0eb58648b817b?section=us_politics

As tyrants take control of democracies, they typically:

1. Exaggerate their mandate to govern – claiming, for example, that they won an election by a landslide even after losing the popular vote.

2. Repeatedly claim massive voter fraud in the absence of any evidence, in order to restrict voting in subsequent elections.

3. Call anyone who opposes them “enemies.”

4. Turn the public against journalists or media outlets that criticize them, calling them “deceitful” and “scum.”

5. Hold few if any press conferences, preferring to communicate with the public directly through mass rallies and unfiltered statements.

6. Tell the public big lies, causing them to doubt the truth and to believe fictions that support the tyrants’ goals.

7. Blame economic stresses on immigrants or racial or religious minorities, and foment public bias and even violence against them.

8. Attribute acts of domestic violence to “enemies within,” and use such events as excuses to beef up internal security and limit civil liberties.

9. Threaten mass deportations, registries of religious minorities, and the banning of refugees.

10. Seek to eliminate or reduce the influence of competing centers of power, such as labor unions and opposition parties.

11. Appoint family members to high positions of authority

12. Surround themselves with their own personal security force rather than a security detail accountable to the public.

13. Put generals into top civilian posts

14. Make personal alliances with foreign dictators.

15. Draw no distinction between personal property and public property, profiteering from their public office.

Consider yourself warned.

And if can do any critical thinking, the above would be considered a lot different than Hillary would have been as President.
I would say it's 180 degrees.

But some people like strong authoritarian leaders, like Trump, Putin and Hitler, history has proven this fact.

Plus they didn't capitalize russia or putin! And then they couldn't even get the capitalization of russian consistent - capitalizing it once and then not capitalizing it another time.

Science to the rescue! See how stupid those libtards are?! It's all there in black and white, for those who are colorblind. I must be some kind of genius!

A balanced view of manufacturing sector with considerations for jobs, currency exchange rates, imports/exports, corporate taxation, etc.

In a nutshell, recommendation is to do a better job teaching our idiots so they can be worthy of the future jobs that will exist here, that automation is a major cause of jobs displacement, and that corporate taxes should be lowered to encourage multinationals to operate here. Not really consistent with the Republican or Democratic playbook, but pulling elements of both:

http://conexus.cberdata.org/files/MfgReality.pdf

The last comment in the report:
Human capital interventions should also begin at
the pre-K level, focusing on skills that enable acquisition of the
mathematical and cognitive skills required of the modern manufacturing
workforce.

How does that line up with the abilities and expectations of the folks who are most affected by manufacturing jobs displacement?

Why should we reward corporations who are making unprecedented profits with a lower tax rate that they usually avoid paying anyway?
They are the ones pushing for more automation, and more illegal or hb1 visa workers for the jobs they have not been able to offshore.
While increased education is always good I dont think training kids to be future corporate slaves is the best approach to our growing problems.

The point of education is to empower those who would otherwise be disenfranchised by automation and other trends that are leaving behind those without the requisite education.

MB--I think your post was probably directed to me (I posted that I am a patent attorney but no longer practice in that area, although many others at my firm do).
I do trademark filing and counseling (that's basically my job; I work in the trademark / brand management group of the Denver office of a national law firm).

Feel free to get in touch with me if you'd like to discuss.
I'm not sure if Supertopo PMs work for me--if you'd like, send an email to pfwein, with a gmail address. (Like a lot of people here, I don't really try to hide my identity and have put my name on ST before, but general fear of Internet foolishness makes me reluctant to put out my work email or even personal email in easy-to-scrub form.)

Any sadder than someone who claims intellectual superiority but doesn't know the difference between it's and its?

But, welcome back, I missed your well expressed delusions.

Read Confucius and Lao Tzu.

Learn to play Go.

Then you you will understand the long-game.

Or, you could stay ignorant.

Where in history has a wall worked?

But then, fact and history....they are so yesterday.
