An under-the-radar court settlement could help curb mass-killing of wildlife by the United States government. Under the settlement, which was approved last week by a Nevada federal court, a division of the US Department of Agriculture called Wildlife Services is required to immediately stop killing predators in more than 6 million acres of Nevada’s public lands. Now, Wildlife Services will have to update the way it operates after conducting new scientific analyses.

I saw Ron at the gun shop, while I was picking up worms to go fishing. I waved. He is indeed alive and well. We didn't talk about this place, Malheur, militias, nor anything else of remote interest to this board. He looked happy.

Yeah, I went and bought (and read) The Mind of the Raven, because of some discussion here that involved Ron.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal released a poll earlier this month showing 58% of likely registered voters supported Question 1, which would require people like Leal to run background checks on buyers. Three other polls released since July have shown the measure steadily drawing more than 60% support.

If it passes, Nevada would join eight states that have a similar requirement. Washington passed a ballot measure in 2014. Colorado and Oregon’s legislatures passed private-party background checks recently as well.

Thanks for asking Tad..Dad is doing fair for 86 but slowed down a bit...Wants to come visit me on the boat after hurricane season ..assuming I still have a boat. If he doesn't make it down I'll go up and visit him in AK this winter..some snow and ice wont hurt after marinating down here in the tropics.

Dad and Ron hung out a bit that day. Good times.
