iMessages?

Did you upgrade to ios 10? Maybe something different about 10.

For 9.3.5

Select Messages Icon from front page
Select Edit from upper left corner.
Select the message you want to delete. (checkmark the circle to the left of the msg).
Select delete button.

I took a look on a borrowed iphone.

Do you have to delete them one at a time?

Tell me it ain't so Joe.

You can delete everything in one shot.

Just put phone in microwave oven for 5 minutes .......

As mentioned, you probably have to reboot.

It is easy to delete all messages older than 30 days, which will probably free up most the space you want.

Navigate to Settings -> Messages -> Keep Messages

The choices are "Forever," "1 Year," "30 Days." I think "Forever" is the default setting. If it is and you change to "1 Year" or "30 Days," all messages older than the chosen option will be deleted (after a warning).

The messages younger than 30 days have to be deleted one at a time---either by swiping or by choosing the Edit option and clicking on all the check boxes---unless you buy an iPhone data wiper, jailbreak the phone, or reset your phone as new from iTunes.

The next time the CIA needs a phone broken into, I guess they'll know how to get it done locally instead of in Israel, eh.

The microwave technique will also work on USB drive in case you have a cetrifuge.

Can't help with that John but here's how you add a headphone jack to the new apple 7 phone.

Apple forgot to put one in. Hope it helps some.

BTW, the headphone jack video above is a joke. Turns out people are trying to duplicate this feat of drilling a hole into an iphone and when they plug in the headphones, nothing works and they get angry. The moral of the story is that stupid people shouldn't buy iphones I guess.
