I am producing/directing this new episodic and this is the first episode.

If you are a parent, a teen, someone who likes wholesome drama or just a bored belayer watching YouTube while that guy up above fiddles with a placement we would love your eyeballs for 12 minutes.

For the record, there is an episode that centers around climbing in development and it will have a couple of well-known (to the ST crowd) faces in it!

I upgraded to Windows 10. Can't hear any sound. At all. I'll have to watch it later, but of what I saw it looks good though.

Thanks Locker!

In a nutshell... I write the episodes. I am the executive producer of the series, and I direct every episode. We have a decent budget, professional actors, and a seriously experienced crew.

Hope it shows.

Thanks Nature!

Need to add some drone work in future episodes.

We were scheduled for a crane shot in the second episode but the weather had other plans...

Thanks for your opinions sycorax! Always welcome.

I will let the award-winning screenwriter know. (He has five kids and works with numerous 14-19 year olds every week.

I am aware the show needs diversity. That will be more evident in the third episode.

yes indeed on the drone filming! Things just got a bit easier now that Part 107 is implemented.

how about an OSMO on a dog. considerably tricker but stabilized footage is much easier on the mind:

Besides the many out of focus shots the lighting of the interior shots are not even film school caliber. Didn't this guy know how to back light?
Decades of experience don't mean much when you stink at what you do.
That, or he just didn't care.

Riveting! Great acting. Wonderful story.

To short tho. Where could you put this for teens to see? that's my only criticize, it's to short. You could easily add more to the beginning tho.

Can't wait to see the next one! Keep up the good work!

I thought it was good, but the ending was too abrupt.
I am not a pro when it comes video, but have a photography background, and thought the camera work was ok.

I am so pleased that the majority of my ST friends appreciate the hard work that went into this film.

It is important to remember that there will always be some who feel Hitchcock was too dark, Sergio Leone too obtuse, and Chinatown sucked. For them we have Guardians of the Galaxy.

To put it in other than filmic terms, for some, the Salathé and Nabisco are just meh. For them, we have After 6.

Oh well...

Being thin skinned in this industry is a recipe for failure.
Your hard work in this film is not the point.
You got shoddy work from one or more of your crew members.
You can get all the praise you want on ST (if that's what you're after) or you can learn from constructive criticism and become a better film maker.

Your directing was textbook and fine.
Your DP and/or gaffer weren't concerned about quality.
A big part of directing is to make sure your crew is giving you exactly what you believe
to be quality work.

If you do this and it still looks amatuer, well...

I appreciate your points pud.

After many years in the industry and on this planet I am anything but thin skinned. Sarcastic perhaps, but that comes from being a Brit.

I will discuss your comments with the DP. Lighting for film (digital and actual film) is a tricky and rather objective subject. What works for one person may be objectionable to another.

I watched it, seemed a little slow and annoying to start but it sucked me in and I watched it all. The final scene could have been gold but in my opinion was ruined by dads mediocre acting. I give it a thumb up and I will watch more, even if I have to click through the ads.
